It's a simple language you could code java in notepad. Search Java tutorials on the net.

You're referring to a Java compiler. The most popular being Javac (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp).

Just download the Java IDE from Eclipse, it comes with absolutely everything you need.
