No, DVD's are still selling, and cheaper.
IF you want to be Gizmo kid, then yeah,
Because the Blu-Ray player, costs around the same.
Stick with your DVD for another couple of years:)

Unless you want to game asweel!

DVD's are still ther but slowly vanishing
but also blu ray is getting cheaoer like this £195 player Here (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-BD-P1400-BluRay-Player-1080P/dp/B000VBJET6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1213054156&sr=8-1)
This is £200 but if ya want to also have gaming then It is well worth paying a tad more for the PS3

PS3 is an all around good movie player as it plays blu-ray and upscales normal DVD's to HD :)

In a word, Yes.

I was a bit skeptical about it all, but when I bought a HD cable and Superbad on Blue-Ray I couldnt get over how amazing the picture and sound is.
If you dont have a HD cable or arent going to get one then no it isnt worth it.
