Too stream music on-air can you just purchase the song, or do you have to buy it and ask for a license from the record company..

I know none of the DJ's/if not many of Habboxlive are advanced enough to know this is they use p2p's like limewire..

To put it quite simply, for every copy of a song, one must pay the MCPS (Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society) for the mechanical copyright of it. To actually broadcast songs you need to pay for a PBL (Public Broadcasting License) to the PRS (Performing Rights Society). The license fee depends on the audience of your radio. The PRS and MCPS send the money off to the writer, composer, publisher, etc.

That's what I've known it to be like and I'm not sure if any of the laws have changed since the debate in 2007. Hope it helped.

You dont need a licence to do music on here but on and FM radio you would have to pay for one and to do Jingles ect you have to have a royal something i don't know but yeah Oh its the royalties no we are all fine from that :)

Its accually wrong,

We do need a lisance but music companys dont accully do anything to small online radio's. Its not worth the hassle if you get big listners like 2000 + more then they strat to have a look into it.

FM though rules are alot tighter and its not unusual to be checked.

To be honest alot of record companys would be happy with the free publicity that their music is getting. I guess if it had a bigger audience there may be problems but like the person before me said I doubt anyone cares.
