Would I notice the difference between a Sony HDMI cable (£20.00) and an average one (£5.00)? Or is it just one of those products that are overpriced because of their brand?

Yeah it'll be down to the brand and quality, I'd go for one in the middle for about £10 if you want pretty good quality.

There is not a difference between a Monster/Sony and a cheap one, they are all the exact same.

There is no difference between the cheap or expensive ones, other then the length.

Buying a more expensive cable wuill be better if the cable is relatively long. On a short didtance cable you probably wouldn't notice much difference. HDMI was a rushed technology, and when the cables start to get even slightly long the quality of the signal rapidly degrades.

my brother bought an expensive HDMI cable and it is really short i could only just make it go from the PS3 and TV and it's not like the PS3 was really far away it was really close. I would buy a cheap one.

There was something on the news saying about how they compared a expensive HDMI cable to a cheap one, and they both turned out the exact same. :S

I bought a 50p one (plus £4.00 shipping lol) from Amazon on Wednesday night, came this morning! It's only 1m though so the quality shouldn't degrade.
