I was extremely disappointed. It was good, but "the happening" is identified straight away and what you look forward to happening throughout never does, which left all 10 of us in the press screening pretty unsatisfied. It has some good death scenes and a generally good story, but it could have come off a lot better. I would recommend The Incredible Hulk for your weekend viewing over M Night Shlalalbalblslbl's latest film.

really wanna see this.
Looks okay, not on my 'To see list' Am looking forward to Hancock, and What Happens In Vegas is supposed to be good.
This sort of reminds me of I am legend, looks good though.

What Happens In Vegas is horrendous, as is any film with Ashton "I can't act" Kutcher.

Okay I like the idea that it goes into the main plot of the film by having..
Them builders all jump off the building site so it shows that its just started happening
But the many deaths in it which you see is quite sickening, like you
see that woman show a video that someone recorded of some man getting his arms ripped off by lions and then eaten
I just don't like films like these where the maker thinks up as many gruesome deaths as he/she can and then uses them in the film and actually shows the gruesome suicides to us.
I don't know why but it makes me feel sick watching it and I'm not even halfway through it yet.
Anyway brb soon and ill give the rest of my views on the film and see if it gets any better.

I'm looking forward to the ending and how the ending pulls off don't tell me thoguh because its obvious its gonna end on a cliffhanger or something after about 1 million people die in it.
Misawa

And that is where you will be sorely disappointed, just like every viewer of the film. There is somewhat of a "cliffhanger" at the conclusion of the picture, but "it", that everybody watching expects, never happened, leaving everyone extremely disappointed and unsatisfied. I'm not surprised the screenplay was rejected several times, and I doubt any execs' are going to give Shayamalan a look-in after yet another flop, not only as a film, but monetarily as well.

I enjoyed the film but it didn't touch M. Nights Shalaballas golden level, as it did with the 6th sense. =P

Also where is the realism in this film..
When the one group all become infected and start killing themselves with that pistol, how many bullets do they think that little pistol can hold!!!
Actually scratch that I think it was a glock

I wouldn't bother picking the film apart, there are too many flaws. It would take an age, but... if you want to raise your post count a couple of hundred - go ahead.

Yeah thanks for putting that into spoilers so no one would read it. Grow up, I can post as many posts as I like about this film while I am/was watching it, it isn't against the rules.
Back ontopic:
Yeah really crap ending and why the hell did they have to kill off them two teenagers without being killed by the toxic whatever.
Plain stupid.
And what the hell at "Three Months Later"
and then they say that the toxic stuff stopped the day after we saw it and then it goes onto a different country where it starts to happen.
Too rushed at the end and I'd give it a
1/10 rating

I'm talking about the last bit you said to me if I want to raise my post count, go ahead.. so basically you were saying I'm spamming..
Sorry if I'm getting the wrong side of things but it looks like your saying I'm spamming or something.

Nope, was continuing my ripping of the film - there are so many flaws that a few hundred posts would cover them all.

M. Night Shyamalan is a very capable director, I liked Signs, but I'll probably wait 'til The Happening comes out on DVD to see it. I'm not too bothered. I am looking forward to his adaption of the popular American Cartoon, Avatar: The Last Airbender though. In my opinion, it will destroy the competition from the other live action anime films, except maybe Ghost in the Shell 3D.

Signs was a brilliant film I just don't see why he had to create this as such a crap film.

Apart from Signs, his films have been both flops in quality and at the box office, and the way his latest is billed, it seems as if it's his last chance as it were to impress, but he's failed and is quite the "one hit wonder". From the success of The Sixth Sense, Shyamalan has seemingly bitten off more than he can chew, with focusing his writing on supernatural and outrageous plots with twists and turns, rather than concentrating on the core fundamentals of a film, which is incredibly evident in The Happening with the unnatural dialogue and failure to develop a story right. It really does not surprised me that his script was turned down several times before being green lit. I wish him all the best of luck for producing something as good as The Sixth Sense in the future, but I feel that it is vital that he overcomes the beginner's flaw as it were, as he should be well past it.
Inseriousity.

Me and my dad were going to the cinemas and we decided either 'The Happening' or 'The Incredible Hulk.' IMDB put Hulk as the clear winner. So glad we watched that.
and ooh give us a sneak review of 'Wanted' when you go to see that, Misawa. It looked good :)

Not sure that I'm going to get an early screening of that, I'm afraid. I think the next press showing is Prince Caspian, but nevertheless, I'm sure I will go and see Wanted regardless and post my thoughts.

Ugh narnia prince caspian. Worse film (excluding the happening)
Thought it would be good after the first one but I was seriously mistaken :eusa_wall
Anyway thats going offtopic.
Yeah don't pay money to watch the happening or you will be greatly disapointed and no doubt be thinking you could of been spending that money on something other than watching hundreds of people shoot themselves, get run over by lawn mowers, hang themselves, smash heads through windows and jumping off buildings.
The one thing I'm confused about is how did the animals die? they were in a field and they aren't exactly gonna pick up a gun and shoot themselves...
Misawa

They ate themselves.

Also one thing I was wondering about..
what did the man do when he got out of the crashed car? (I watched a crap quality version of it and didn't see properly)
