Hey,

Just my shakes on the new version of Opera.

Used to hate it

LOVE it now

Ask for it to open, its their within 2-3 seconds maybe quicker.

Loads web pages amazingly quick. (Depending if the server your trying to contact is quick also)

They've gone freeware.

I suggest you try it :) - I will use it over firefox anyday now

I dislike it tbh, no clue why, just generally hate it.

I prefer FF3 RC2, because Opera is too slow for me (Loading pages)

I have noticed that you do get some unfortunate people that the pages load slow for, but its very fast at loading initially and the page loading for me is the snap of a fingers - Of course, depending on the server you are trying to contact as I say.

Regards,
I also don't like the status bar, as it does not show whether it's attempting to connect or not.

Well i'm using it now.. I have to say guys it does seem a little quicker than FF RC3

Okay, maybe not. But god, it looks so much better than FF. Text also looks a little clearer, too.

I like good ol' FireFox, I could never really "get into" Opera.

Never got into Opera, I rather use Safari or Firefox. =]

I used to use opera, then switched back to firefox for variety. Downloaded opera again but I have to say I prefer firefox now. I can't find a decent dark skin for opera, and I've kinda grown attached to the skin I'm using on firefox :P

Have you tried doing the tweaks that were posted in this section a while ago? Most pages load in under 2 seconds for me now, is Opera faster than that?

I've been using Opera for ages. The features that I cannot live without are:

CTRL-Z to reopen closed tabs.
Mouse gestures
Holding Right mouse button and pressing left to go back a page.

It's called the fastest web browser not because it actually loads pages faster (although it does) but because of the huge amount of tricks you can use to make the actual web browsing faster.

That's actually the fastest its been for a while, I was expecting something closer to 1500 :(

EDIT: Scratch what I just said, I just downloaded Opera 9.5 and its far faster than firefox AND it has a dark(ish) theme, so I'm officially in love with it.

I hate the new Opera theme. It's too big, clunky and takes up too much realestate. I use a tiny custom one instead.

I downloaded it, using it quite usually now.
Like FireFox more though.

Well, I've just downloaded it... and I'm on the verge of loving it... it's fast, but I've just tweaked my Firefox and it's just as fast... maybe you can tweak Opera. I'll use it a bit and see what it's like, so far I like it. :)

EDIT: Wow, I like that speed dialing thing! Very nice.

I've found it to be about twice as fast, I don't think I've had a page load in more than a second yet ;)

Gotta try if i can beat your 0.5 second lol!
I dont think I'll make the full switch from Firefox to Opera though, well have to see!

Yeah, my download speed usually hovers around 1.5/2mbps so 10 mbps should be pretty quick!

I just tried, loads google as soon as i press 'enter' though that's nothing new :D

Habboxforum loaded quite quickly though, surprisingly.
I will have to put all my effort into making the full switch!
