I'm looking at HP desktops, which one would you recommend?
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/series_can.do?storeName=computer_store&landing=desktops&a1=Category&v1=Entertainment%20powerhouse

The "gaming pc" has a max of 2.8 Ghz processor while the non gaming one has a maximum of 3.0 Ghz processor?
Could anybody please tell me which one i should go with, money is no object.

If you want Gaming, I would recommend Dell XPS.

I've considered the XPS series, I'm really just stuck between HP & Dell as I like both companies equally.
Recommendations would be great for the HP in specific.

If you want gaming, there is the chance you could build one yourself. I built mine for £550, which included:

- Core 2 Quad - Q6600
- Asus P5KC Motherboard
- Antec 900 Gaming Case
- HX Corseair 550W PSU
- Artic Freezing Heatsink/Fan
- Seagate 500GB HDD
- DVD Drive
- All fans included
- Including del. of parts

This did not include a graphics card.

Then the Graphics card bumps it up and over £650 :P

You must be proud, I dont think I'll be building a PC though.
Also, the Dell XPS 630 with the free "24 monitor and XP sounds great!

Anybody tell me what to get it with, or any other recommendations?
I like good deals, I'm not on a budget but dont like paying too much, hence the reason i decided not to go with AlienWare.

That is very pricy for what you get...only 2GB RAM.

You don't really need any more than 2GB RAM. I have a Dell XPS 420 which is good - you can get one with 2GB RAM, quad core and 8800GT now and a 22" monitor for £600 :)

Aces, why are you giving people attitude when you want help? That's like Oxfam slapping everyone who donates to them.

I have a packard bell iPower and I really can't complain, its been great so far. It was second hand though, new they're somewhere between £1000 and £1500 so idk if you want to spend that money on it.

I specify in the beginning of this post that money is NO object, that meaning I dont really have a budget, for all you 10 year olds or for those who cannot read.
Also, I dont feel the need to have to explain to either you or the other kid if i decided to lift my budget, it has nothing to do with my thread.

Hes post was useless to me, you atleast dont want a warning for off-topic I see.

Well buy all the parts individually and get a computer shop to put it together for you if you don't want to do it yourself?

Custom building will be the best value for money.

Get an iMac, Bootcamp on it, Windows XP:
£1000 gets you:
2.8 Core 2 Duo
2gb Ram - 4gb Ram only £90 extra
ATI Radeon HD Pro - 256
320gb HDD
24inch widescreen - built in

...and its a Mac so got the reliability and 3 year warranty included.. also can sell 2 years down the line and only lose about £200-350 on what you paid for it, some say they handle games than normal PC's custom built for it... ive got 1 and i can justify that - runs any game i throw at it good enough for me in high quality settings.

Firstly, you are really annoying, I can do whatever i want to do with my own money! I'm tired of having you everywhere in my face whenever i try having a decent conversation.

If you're using XP anyway, you don't want to pay for more than 3GB RAM as XP only shows this amount. If you want to access more RAM, you'll either need to use VISTA or find a way to hack XP to show more RAM. I believe I did read a way of doing it.

Let me see you run:
Crysis - Ultra High Settings
FSX - Ultra High Settings

On that, then compare it to my custom built PC. I paid £800 for my computer, which is far bloody better than that POC iMac. Actually now, you can get a better PC for £600 :/

Right, he got it wrong. Jeese. Macs can run some games pretty good while boot camping for example; I seen some pretty nice shots of FS9 ran on a macbook pro. Although I do suggest buying a whole windows desktop if your a "true" gamer. Macs are more for creative, multimedia and so on.
