In response to the announcement about the child porn, what is considered child porn? Like does the breasts, penis, bum or vagina have to be showing? Or can it be like a girl in her bra and thong, or a guy in his boxers shirtless? I automatically thought that anyone posting ANY sort of nude/erotic photo would be banned anyway? I found the announcement to be very vague, and I wasn't aware that this forum had a child porn problem until now. Sure the occasional person may show their genitals on a "cam2cam" with someone, but is this not alowed, and what kind of moron would spread this on the FORUM? I think some clarification on what is/isn't child porn would be of great help to the forum members, or just me.

The announcement was with regards to a problem we've had, clarifying that those spreading child porn will be dealt with using the harshest of measures, up to and including reporting them to their IP if it becomes a serious problem.

As far as the legal definition of child porn, it would be displaying genitalia, the bust of a girl, or the buttocks of either gender (scientific and politically correct, whoee!). However, images of under 18s in thongs or other similarly compromising positions distributed without their consent will be dealt with. If it is distributed with their consent, that still shouldn't be happening but the measures taken will be less stringent.

I am not 100% sure what we would do if images of an under-18 were distributed with their consent, I can't think of what rule specifically bans that, but I do remember a 16 year old was posted in her bra before and 8F8 specifically banned the members, perhaps it is reasonableness, you know what's appropriate and what's not. I'll get clarification on what happens if a member were to willingly distribute a picture of him or herself in underwear, but all of the others were still against the rules, we wanted to concentrate on the issues focused on in the announcements in order to show how serious we were about the issue.

I disagree, the announcement had a purpose. And also, the announcement was spurred by, but not because of the issue. One of the things we had to clarify was that since you are "legal" in Britain I think that child pornography would be defined as under 16. I wanted to clarify that for the purposes of this forum 18 and under was defined as child pornography, as much of this forum falls in the 16-17 range its actually quite pertinent.

I also periphally wanted people to know that bullying along with this could be punished and all that. Plus certain people weren't thinking that what they were doing was considered child porn. But the main thing was to clarify that if the British limit for child porn is 16, we will be enforcing an 18 and under definition of child pornography.

18 is the legal age for pornography to be filmed so under 18 stuff is classed as "child" pornography.

The law covering England and Wales defines a child as up to and including the age of 13. From 14-18 they are classed as a young person.

In any event it doesn't matter whether it is a child, young person or an adult there really isn't any room for porn on the forum and it has always been the practice to ban people who post it in my experience.

Yeah, that's what I thought. No porn is allowed, adult or child, so an announcement wouldn't really warn us anyway. The rules do that. If the minority don't want to follow them, ban them all :)

It's pornography... No form of pornography is allowed, which is why the announcement seems pointless, because you're just announcing 2 things people are fully aware of, pornography and bullying, which are already rules and people should know by now that both aren't allowed. And it's 18 for pornography here, and to be in pictures of pornography you also have to be 18. It'll be like me announcing that chocolate ice-cream may contain traces of chocolate, or bags of peanuts may contain traces of nuts :P

That's why I'm confused too. Child porn is coincidently pornography, which isn't allowed, so child porn won't be allowed either.

To clarify, it was sparked by the issue at hand yes but after googling it to get some confirmation, I couldn't find a specific age for the UK child porn laws (it was late so I didn't look that hard.) Therefore, I was making sure, just in case the age for child porn was the same as the age for legal intercourse in Britain. It appears, however, that I was mistaken, and that announcement was unecessary I guess. My bad :$ But it serves as a reminder. But the reason it was posted was I wasn't sure if those in the 16-18 range were classified as child porn in England and I wanted to reinforce the understanding of the harsh measures taken with those who spread it (someone spreading porn would be permed, someone spreading child porn is most probably autobanned.)

No, pornography would be a permanent ban, child pornography is dealt with as a more serious issue, and the point was to clarify that 16-18 would be dealt with as child porn, but that seems to be a moot point as it is considered that in Britain, so YES it was pretty pointless, because I was confused.
