it use to stack normally but Habbo changed that a few versions back

it's still possible to put two hatches inside each other i think... but not stack them.

Ye, just confirming what everyone else has said, they can't be raised, just like rollers. I don't actually know why they changed it , but they did. The easiest way to mimic the effect of a high up gate is to put a mat inside the gate, at the height of the platform. That way it acts just like a gate, but you'll walk higher up. :)

I asked them why they kept patching random stacking techniques they replied:

Habbo patches what they feel is neccasary for the hotel to run at its full potential, if this means that an issue with stacking is patched then so be it. The technical People always do their best to make sure Habbo is run to the best of its ability.

How do you do that? I'm no good at stacking and I've been playing since '04

Because he's a very good stacker? :eusa_clap
And you can stack gates, as said, but not raised.
It's just simple really.
Putting the executive rug down, leaving a gate open, put some furni next to it, reload the hotel, put the furni inside the gate, take away the rug. Haha!
