Just finished it, with both endings, wow!

Rob Zombie really ressurected a legend and brought it back, as said on the back of the case I have, one of THE greatest Stabathons of recent years.

Kudos to Rob! Anyone else seen it?

It was okay... Rob should have made another sequel rather than remaking the original in his own vision. I'm all for interpretation, look at Christopher Nolan, but Zombie doesn't have the same craft as Carpenter and his modern style of horror in my view doesn't suit the storytelling of the first Halloween.

I see your point there, but it was a very good interpretation of the story, especially how he explored more deeper in Michaels past.

It was okay, nothing on the original though. It lacked the suspense (Rob really doesn't know how to use music to set a scene) and subtlety of the original, everything just seemed to revolve around him killing people in a brutal manner. I also hate how they gave him a background, it takes away from the killer with no motive thing. Was still pretty decent though.

Subtlety of actual Mike or the film? Odd spots in the camera, you could see him, if focused enough. I Agree R.Z can't set a scene with music, but it was a general great re-release.

I don't like it as a remake, but as just a general horror movie it's fine. The whole movie lacked subtlety - the overusing of Michael (he was called 'The Shape' in the original for a reason), the blood and gore and general brutality of every killing and the need for an explanation of everything. But that's all in comparison to the original.

Take out the backstory and it would have made a decent sequel. But oh well, I suppose it's fitting since Friday The 13th is being a re-imagined remake, as is A Nightmare On Elm Street.

Ahah, another classic remake is going to be the Evil Dead, while Raimis making a 4th :S
