Hi all
I can't believe what happened. I.. fainted during sex education around 45 minutes ago, and I came home. It was awful, the nurse was talking about discharge and that was about if for me, my head felt like it was going to explode, I lost vision and hearing, went all dizzy and hot and fell back in my seat while my mouth filled with puke and went all on the floor, on my trousers and blazer. I could see blurs and saw an adult coming over to me, and I got took outside. It was in front of like 35 people, I felt soooo embarrassed! I went to the office and they rang my mum, and I still don't feel 100%. I'm going to the doctors at 5.30 tonight. I should be back at school tomorrow if all goes well, but no doubt people are going to comment about it, what shall I say?!?! Should I play along and just laugh about it (even though its hard too)? It was so embarrassing when I had to go back in the classroom to get my bag; no one said anything but they all looked!
Help, what can I say tomorrow?!
ToxicPaddy
P.S This has actually happened before in year 7, because I had a heart problem - I wonder if its linked to that..
clarissa !!

This isn't like fainting in a normal lesson, its sex education - a touchy subject when talking to 14yr olds about it, I don't know if anyone would believe it was for a normal reason..

They handed out a sheet of paper saying 'Which of these is a sign you have an STI' and there was a list of 'Discharge, bad smell, blood' etc and I couldn't handle that. Then she said she was going to hand out pictures that were graphic and real, and that was it.

Very diffrent sex education from when I had it at school although it doesnt seem to stop teens having sex or children while still in school. Plus I don't think fainting should be something you need to be worried about or concerend at what others will think about it, you fainted at a wrong time, your uncomfortable with learning about sex, it is no big deal.

Just say that you didn't feel well and fainted. I doubt anyone is going to care, just laugh it off.
today
23-06-2008, 01:47 PM
Just go with it and laugh about it.
LOLL, I'm sorry.
Just either say you were sick or something, or tell the truth, and if they don't believe you or just talk crap then too bad for them. You are what you are and if you can't handle that sort of stuff.. you can't really do anything about it, can you? Everyone has something they can't deal with.

This happened to a kid in sex education in my school. He fainted, hit his head on the desk then on the floor. (There were some graphic photos, which was probably why). People were curious but nobody really asked him about it.

The wierd thing is, I can watch horror movies with loads of blood and guts etc, and I feel fine. But that stuff just put me off. Anyway, within half an hour people will start coming online on MSN and ask me what happened. I will be honest and play along laughing :)

ToxicPaddy
23-06-2008, 03:29 PM
Because.. I'm kinda shy lol and I didn't want them saying like 'put your hand down you can ask questions in a minute', and I didn't think I would actually be sick.

ToxicPaddy
23-06-2008, 03:32 PM
Lol! But it wasn't actually the condoms or contraception which put me off, it was when she was graphic about the diseases.

lol thats a good idea, just say it was only partly because of the actual sex ed and say that it just set off your heart problem.

don't blame it on your heart condition unless it really is because of that, otherwise that's wrong. unlucky though!! I remember when one guy fainted because it was too hott and he threw up on the desk, it was nasty and he stopped coming to that class lmaooo

Sorry you fainted but most kids know about sex and sex education at like 9-10 now. Not through school. The sex education he was learning wasn't stuff like 'INSERT THE PENIS INTO THE VAGINA' which you do learn when your 9-10, he's learning about the affects of STDs which I doubt many 9-10 years olds even know about, never mind visualise.

haha yeah those STI pictures do get graphic. A few years back the health nurse showed us around 20 of STIs (a kid fainted then). I can see how someone could faint looking at some of those photos, but if you fainted when seeing someone put a condom on a wooden stick, surly there must have been more being shown.

Be honest, just say you feel uncomfortable talking about sex education and that talking about graphic things like STDs and STIs makes you feel ill. It does with loads of people, it is a big subject which is pressured upon quite alot.
Oh dear. You sound queezy, perhaps, drop out of the sex ed lessons?
