Hi
I bring sad news tonight, I found my hamster dead in my cage. To be honest, I wasn't surprised; it was ill for a while now. I am burying it tomorrow after school with my 4yr old sister (who loved it) in the garden. She is quite upset at it, and so am I. Its next to me now in a little plastic box with hay in it. On the lid, on a piece of paper I wrote -
Sozzard the Hamster
"His star will forever shine"
"Sleep with a smile"
March 2008 - 24 June 2008
God bless it x

As a catholic, we don't believe hamsters have immortal souls - which means we don't believe he went to heaven. So, I don't believe he is in a better place :P
We do believe he has been put in the soul of another animal though (not a human), and that animal may have a very nice life.
Never the less, God bless him :)
Aww sorry to hear that he died after 1 year dead on aswell :(

Well apparently wet tail is caused by stress of an unfriendly environment...

Totally correct. Some people have no empathy at all. :(
Anyway, Paddy, I am very sorry to here the news but glad that your hamster is not suffering anymore. :)

It may have been stressed, but I tried as best as I could to keep it and it seemed happy until then?
Also, catholics don't believe in human reincarnation, but they don't believe that animals except humans have souls, so they get put into another animal that is born. Humans, when they die, go to heaven in the same everlasting soul :)

That's awful. I'm very sorry.
I believe in his other soul he will have a good life - That I hope for you and Sozzard.
But whilst all in mourning, you should remember the good life that i'm sure you provided for him.

Not if you get the animal... If you looked after it properly, i'm sure it would of lived a lot longer than 3 months...

Hamsters have an average life span of 1-2 years. The pet shops, specially treat the hamsters, so obviously you screwed up,
