Nick finally announced when they're releasing the last episodes of Avatar.

Notice book 3 has 21 episodes instead of the usual 20 like in the first two books. ;) The last four episodes (18, 19, 20 and 21) and going to be combined to make a two hour special. :)

Also, it might interest you to know that book 3 is the last season of Avatar. So it'll all be over by the 19th of July, but the creators have said that 'other stories will be told in the Avatar world' so basically they're saying that there is going to be a spin-off series or episodes.
There is also going to be three 60 minute long animated (like the series) Avatar films as well as three live action Avatar movies. The live action movies are going to be directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs, The Happening). Each movie is going to represent the elements like the series did (first movie - water, second movie - earth, third movie - fire). The first movie is currently in casting and set design and is due for release on July 2, 2010.


NOTE: The air dates above are American air dates, but there is quite a high chance that is when they'll air in the UK as well. If not, they'll be on the internet then anyway.

Nothing official to my knowledge, but I found it funny that this comet is meant to give the fire benders great power yet a comet is made of ice and rock, the two forces fighting against the fire benders.

You have a good point. Avatar is a fantasy show but does have a lot of realism, this could be a major flaw. Or maybe it won't help the firebenders afterall. :O But then the whole climax will be ruined.

If the comet doesn't actually give the firebenders some amazing power then it is basically ruined because that's what I've been waiting for. :P I don't want everyone to fight little waste firebenders. :( Although there is already a handful of strong people. The Fire Lord, Azula, Ty Lee... It would be nice if they got stronger though. :P

Ah Yes! I forgot Ty Lee also betrayed Azula. Theres a scene of her fighting Suki in the finale trailer so I just assumed it was only Mai who betrayed her but I just realised that scene is actually from the episode of the betrayal. :P They won't get stronger anyway since they're not firebenders.

I just hope Iroh comes back and kicks some *** before the end. Also, I reckon Aang will take down the Fire Lord and Zuko will take down Azula. I'm kinda hoping Iroh fights the Fire Lord as well.

Yeah, after Zuko was all happy with Iroh he goes and betrays him. I was like WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Zuko is awesome though. He must reunite with Iroh! :P You know what would be a *****? Imagine if Iroh died, damn... People dying is what Avatar lacks though so hopefully that won't happen.

Yeah, thats quite likely. Well actually, it's still a kids show, so I'm not sure if Aang or anyone good will die, but you never know. It has come a long way. I'm really eager to find out how they're going to end it now. :P

Mehhh, the only arcs are the soul society and the hueco mundo ones that are good. But the annoying thing is, they stopped right in the middle of the hueco mundo arc and started a filler one so the manga can get a bit more ahead coz the anime was catching up too much >.<.

FMA is amazing! Ive been trying to get chris to watch it for ages. Its def the 2nd best anime.

It airs at 8:00pm in America, which is like 1:00am in the UK. :P The next episode airs tomorrow, and then the last 4 episodes will air on saturday. They should all hopefully be on veoh, avatar chapters or something by monday. If not, the final DVD volume containing the last episodes is released in America on the 29th of July, so they should be on the internet by then.

Damn, that episode was awesome! But I HATE Katara! That ***** used bloodbending when she swore she wouldn't and when did she get so powerful!? The opening was so cool though, Zuko can now fight on par with Azula, he's gonna so kick her *** in the last episodes. I love the slow motion scenes in Avatar, they're so awesome, so are Zuko's firebending skills. He does some crazy breakdancing stuff, it's pretty amazing.

I think the same things gonna happen between Aang and the Fire Lord that happened between Katara and the guy who killed her mother. Aang will have the firelord on his knee's, but won't be able to kill him. I think the firelord will probably take advantage of that and end up killing himself (accidently) or it will end with Aang having to kill him.

After seeing the preview for the next episode it looks like Aang can do some pretty amazing firebending now. It will be really interesting to see him use all four elements in his final fight.

Yeah, I just noticed loads of people are complaining that it's not working on the sitel. Looks like I watched it just in time.

The funniest episode so far in my opinion. :D It's actually really interesting to look back at all the stuff that happened in Avatar up to it's climax. In the play they even go past the present and show Azula beating Zuko and the Firelord beating Aang, which puts pressure on everyone. The whole series has been brilliant and is definitely one of my favourite shows of all time. Since the episodes tomorrow go together to make a 2 hour special it probably won't be online until late in the morning. I am so looking forward to this special I might just stay up all night, although I do that anyway. I bet the final fight will be amazing but it's gonna be so sad to see the series end! The thing I'm looking forward to the most in the final episodes is Iroh. He has to show up, and he has to fight now he's as strong as the terminator. Damn, I can't wait another day! Avatar is probably my most anticipated show ever! I wonder if they'll be a twist in the finale or something, like Aang can't beat the firelord so he has to give up his feelings for Katara to go in the Avatar State. :O

Well it's intended to be a sort of kids/teens programme but I still think it's good... and the finale has just aired so you won't have to wait around for the new episodes.

******* hell, that was amazing. Sorry Death Note, Avatar is now my favourite show of all time.
The first two episodes were about Aang finding his way, and discovering if there is another way to defeat the Firelord other than taking his life. He gets some ultra wisdom from a Lion Turtle which leads to Aang taking the Firelord's bending, instead of his life. I don't really understand how Aang got to that Lion Tutrle or whatever, but it was still amazing. The last four episodes were planned perfectly. I'm glad it started off with some fun parts before all the action picked up.
We finally see Iroh! One of the best characters! I wish we actually saw him fighting, but his presence was enough to make me happy. All the other masters were there as well, it was so awesome!
The fight between Zuko and Azula wasn't as long and epic as I thought it would be, but it was still brilliant. It's just like Azula to target people who aren't expecting it. She totally broke down, haha! She deserved it aswell, stupid *****. I wish it showed what happened to her after she was defeated though. I also wish it showed where Zuko's mum was, and what she was doing walking free in the Fire Nation capital. We were always lead to believe she was murdered by the Firelord. I wish it explained that, which was probably the only disappointing thing about the entire show, even though it isn't very disappointing, I just wish they explained it!
Sokka, Suki and Toph invaded the Fire Nation fleet. Toph kicked major *** metal bending. When Toph fell and Sokka was holding on to her, but had hurt his leg and couldn't hold on for much longer, I was just sitting there watching it with my mouth wide open. When Sokka said 'I think this is the end Toph' my jaw hit the floor. Just then Suki flew in and saved the day though, thank god! The music during this scene was perfect for what was happening.
The final fight between Ozai and Aang was the best fight scene in the whole show and one of my all time favourites. It started off pretty even, when Ozai shot his lighting at Aang and Aang was about to redirect it back at him my jaw hit the floor again, but Aang redirected it into the sky instead of into Ozai. I was like NOOOOOO AANG WHAT ARE YOU DOING, but Aang couldn't take the Firelords life, he just isn't that kind of person. After Aang got his *** kicked a bit, all of the energy in his scar on his back (where Azula shot him) poured out when he was hit in the same spot again, allowing him to go into the Avatar State (I KNEW IT WOULD HAPPEN) where he kicked MAJOR ***! Aang was about to kill Ozai but stopped, again! I was like NOOO all over again. Then when Aang turned his back, Ozai took advantage of it and tried to kill Aang but he felt Ozai's movements (how Toph would) and then there was some awesome slow motion shot where Aang blocked his moves and basically tied him up with some amazing Earth Bending. Then Aang used a move we had never seen before to take Ozai's firebending, which he discovered he could do from talking to the Lion Turle. I don't think it could have ended any other way. Ozai was awesome, he was so powerful, theres no way Aang could have won without the Avatar State. Ozai is voiced by Mark Hamill by the way (Luke Skywalker from Star Wars)!
After Ozai is defeated we see Zuko and Aang talking to each other as friends and Zuko becomming the new Firelord. That was so epic, the music was amazing and went with the scenes perfectly. It was like Lord of the Rings all over again! Zuko talked about a new age of friendship and peace, it was so awesome, but so sad! :( Then it shows everyone enjoying themselves, and Aang and Katara kiss. Katara has my respect now. It was all so brilliant! This is also during the part where Zuko asks Ozai where his mother is, why didn't they show her or explain anything after that!
Damn, I wrote a lot. I doubt anyone will read this but I'll keep writing anyway since I enjoyed the show so much. The finale entertained me throughout, I can't explain how amazing it was. I'm happy because it was so amazing and had such a great ending, but I'm sad because it's over! :( I guess next I'll have to buy all the DVDs and watch it again! It must be even more amazing in high quality, since I had to watch it in YouTube quality. That's if the DVDs ever get here anyway. America get the last DVD in a week, we haven't even got the season 2 DVDs yet! Ah well, that's life, guess I'll have to wait.
Anyway, best show ever, best finale ever, best everything ever.

I bet a few Zutara fans were quite happy with them episodes actually. :P Everyone knew it was Aang and Katara that were meant to be though.

I think I knew no one would die but I was hoping Azula would get killed. :P The only person that died in the entire series was Jet. :O

The Avatar creators were at ComicCon a few days ago, a few things were answered and announced.

Creators: Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.
Director: Joaquim Dos Santos.


Zuko finding Ursa was actually storyboarded for the finale by Avatar Director Joaquim Dos Santos, but was nixed by Mike DiMartino - not really sure why.
Avatar will be airing in order on Nicktoons "soon" - no date was announced though.
The lion turtle taught Aang how to spirit bend (Bryan called it "unbending", but still not clear exactly what to call it).
Aang can spirit bend or take other people's bending away at will, it wasn't just a one time thing.
A new Avatar MMORPG will be coming out soon, presumably like World of Warcraft or Everquest
This won't be the last Avatar panel at SDCC.
Mike made it clear that at least the first live action movie is a very faithful retelling of Book One: Water.

We're all aware that it's not Japanese and therefore is technically not anime, but it's far from a 'badly made american ting'. Avatar has a great unique story, with interesting characters and outstanding animation. Avatar is greatly inspired by anime (such as Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and FLCL - which were all watched before they starting making Avatar to give them an idea of how the fights are cheorographed, how the character design and animation is done, etc), but even the creators are continuously stating that Avatar is not anime. They wanted it to be similar to anime, which they achieved, but it's not trying to be something else, it's an American Cartoon, and it's excellent.

I admit Avatar lacks a lot of that, but I would never rate it down because it lacks what a mature anime doesn't. That's simply because it was never intended to be mature. It's a kids programme, it's not suppost to contain a lot of blood and death. Saying Avatar gives anime a bad name because it doesn't contain some mature elements is stupid. Thats like saying Pokemon gives anime a bad name because it doesn't have blood or death in it either, but Pokemon basically put anime on the map in the USA and UK. Which, despite not being anime, Avatar has done all over again.

ok im just gonna get one thing straight as a persong that has been waching anme and reading manga for over half my life i will admit that i watch some mature animes but mostly i wach romance animes e.g ROZEN MAIDEN and chobits simple as besides elfen lied put me off food for like 4 days

I personally didn't like Elfen Lied, the extreme gore is the only real thing is has going for it. If you want a true mature anime go for Paranoia Agent, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Death Note or Berserk.
