I met my current girlfriend (been with her now for nearly 18 months, known her for 3 years!) on Habbo (in HxHD to be exact!) and we're proof that, given time, it can work. The only thing is, we realised we only live an hour away from each other. We go out pretty much every day we have free and I really think she's the one.

I think that is the best way to do it, meeting in a public place and what not. I doubt I'd ever meet anyone in a non public place I meet on the internet, even if I had meet them before.
