You can stack next to the petal, the turn the roller so the item you stacked rolls onto the petal.

In everywhere apart from the corners, yes - just stack it as normal then put rollers going to the space you want to drop it on (on top of the petal) and it will roll on to it.

In my eyes, anything is possible. Even what you're talking about can be done, NOW, but you have to raise the petal slightly off the ground, but even so, you can put tiles underneath it and it looks good like that. To answer your Q, yes it's possible:
