Perhaps it's allergies.

Have you worn anything tight recently, or had your chest pushed against anything for a long period?

I get these occasionally when I sleep, sometimes you just end up sleeping in an awkward position and when you wake up it's there for a while, sometimes days! However it could be a allergic reaction but sleeping is most probably the cause, it shouldn't give you any harm, it might well be a coincidence that your having trouble on the inside of your body too. But to be sure or if you remain uncomfortable, consult your GP.

I've had chest pains. I went to the doctors and yes, he said stress is a possible cause. I was also told it could be due to lifting a lot of heavy things in a short period of time :S
