Am I missing something?

I presume people will still buy it, it's only an extra 30p. I for one will start buying it after I've gotten back into Runescape... might take sometime though.

ridiculous.

I don't think the extra 30p is that bad, considering the new Graphics update they've implemented.. they should be charging alot more. Runescape offers SO much more than other MMORPG's, especially for the price too!

No they shouldnt charge more, it hardly costs them to make the graphics..

I reckon the prices are reasonable considering the scale of extra features you get access to :P

It hardly costs them anything to make the graphics? Ever heard of human labour.

You Dont have to pay the new price if u keep the membership going after the 4th August. However if u dont get membership after the 4th August for 2 weeks thenu will have to pay the new price

They are trying to offset the costs incurred by the effects of inflation.

Membership nowadays is (in real terms) cheaper than it was three years ago. They are merely trying to put it back to it's correct value in relation to the value of money. Google "inflation".

Each update is planned 2 years before its release and the amount of coding that goes into each update is amazing. It also does cost Jagex alot of money to do the graphics because the graphics department have over 70 workers, all working on a £22k+ salery.

The price rise could be worse than it is. It won't put me off of playing though. :}

At the end of the day, 30p more wont kill you.
If you want members, then buy it.

Yep I have, I've also heard of salaries though ;)

30p is negligable. Considering I can't even remember what I'm paying now, 30p won't make too much difference :P

Which hasn't really hit them too hard.
Their still making huge profits.

They have always survived before..

Just because they make new graphics doesnt mean they pay anyone more than they used too..

It's not exactly crappy updates. Not many MMORPG's provide updates every week.

A shame for those who buy after the 18th, those before (like me) dont have to pay new prices unless membership isnt renewed within 2 weeks

Not many MMORPG's ruin the game within a month.
Removed dueling, pking, trading limited etc.

I know this is an old thread but I was thinking tbh, they've made the wrong decision and in my eyes have been greedy. Correct me if im wrong, quite a few people left runescape... which means they have less income from members... So wait... The people who have stayed and supported it now have to pay more :S. 'Cos it's the decent peoples fault isn't it... If they want their income don't ban RWT *REMOVED*

If you are an existing member and you allow your membership to lapse for more than two weeks (after the 18th of August), you will be charged the new rate when you re-subscribe.

Read the full article, only new members and old members who haven't had members for 2 weeks are charged more.
