Yes, five news said tonight that teachers, traffic wardens, civil servants and public workers will be receiving them very shortly..

My one thought is:
'Whens mine coming?'

Great but then they'd just stab you in the arm or face or leg. But I've always wanted to see the reaction of someone trying to stab someone with a vest on.

It is a good idea to certain people but like if everyone had them people would jst go round more stabbing people even if they think they have a vest on or not people will keep stabbing people and then say ''they should have had a vest on'' so thats a bit silly but ye good idea!

Oh great, because loads of kids work into school and stab their teacher. I guess it bets giving them an apple.

The most vital organ to me is the Brain, and thats not protected =( (apart from the skull) but if a triad ran towards me with a machete for my head I'd cry. :(

It doesn't matter, all they need to hit is an artery and you'll bleed to death.

Teachers usually wear clothes which you can't exactly hide a stab vest under.

I would laugh if my maths teacher had to wear one, the old dawg. Even better my English teacher! She wouldn't be able to put it on, hope they come in XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL.

They've always been in the UK but i'm guessing they're starting to hand them out and give them more publicity? Also why do teachers need them? :s

I don't think teachers, traffic wardens etc have them, but the police do. I don't see why teachers need them. How often do you hear stories of teachers being stabbed in the UK, whilst teaching? not very often.

I don't think Teachers should have them, accept from in extremely rough schools were they might get threated alot. Traffic wardens etc should have them, because people they fine tend to hate them and might pull out a knife. lol

Since when were the teachers I got to see a detailed report. You would certainly moan if they became part of your compulsory school uniform. I think the money could be better spent having metal detector alarms and security guards at school, they do that in the USA sometimes.

Yes, or more police to deal with the knife/gun situation that the UK currently has.

Imo CS gas would be better than stab proof vests.
Its easily hidden, goes un-noticed and is more of a deterant.
A stab proof vest could probably be broken through, depending on the force and strenth of whoevers doing the stabbing.

Stab vest's just look stupid, I dont care if it saves a life it looks idotic and you wouldn't walk around school/town in one..

An to someone who said something about Metal Detactors, they have that in some schools in my area, lmao! It dosn't stop after school fights, and people bringing weapons.
Most people are safe inside school, its just outside where you can get rushed..

I wouldn't wear a stab vest to school and I live in London, they look stupid and lame.

Meh, it's your life.
Besides, I doubt it will catch on anyway. New ways to terrify people will emerge, pushing the boundaries even further and more unpredictibly terrifying i.e. setting people on fire with a can of petrol or a hammer to the head.
