Just go with the flow, you don't need to know what to do the music will take over you :8

That happened to me once :( they were good shoes too :'(

I also got kicked in the face by somebody doing it when they got dragged over by the people in yellow :O

The stewards, well yeah, thats what they're supposed to do. Lol, It's dangerous to crowd surf / dive.

Lol. There was one guy at the B4S gig in Camden yesterday who kept crowd surfing/diving, getting grabbed and pulled out and going back in and doing it again :P

Anyway, just do what everyone else does and you'll be fine :)

in all honesty, i dont jump around at gigs and stuff.
also, dont try and surge to the front. at 90% of the gigs i go to, the people at the front get rammed against the barrier so much, not a good thing for your first gig.

Yeah, If you dont want to be fighting stand next to the sound booth, otherwise go towards the front. NOT NEXT TO THE RAIL THOUGH!

Always at the rail. Best place.

I am usually the person in the yellow.

Well I wouldnt reccomend it for a first gig.

It really depends on what your limits are as a person, right up against the rail has its benefits of being close to the band but you are likely to get squashed by the crowd mass behind you which is an issue if your slightly claustrophobic or generally don't like being hot and sweaty, (or sharing bodily secretions with other people which I have had to do many a times at festivals and gigs.)

It also gets very hot in that area and if you do leave it is unlikely that you will get to the same spot again.

Standing right at the back isnt fun either, yes its nearer to the Loo's and bar but you will have that annoying 6'5" person and his lanky mates blocking your view. We don't know where they come from but our theory is they are employed by the organisers to block your view so you must attend again.

If you want to make a bid for a little closer I suggest either join behind a group of people heading forward or try and cut sideways into a crowd it is far more effective than going from the back forward.

As for what to do, my suggestion though I in no way advocate underage drinking (if that is the case) is to get reasonably tipsy before entering the venue and therefore keep yourself topped up inside therefore being cheaper overall but more importantly, its easier to go with the flow. (It seems like an obscure phrase but you will understand when you are there)

Other than that, enjoy your gig I am sure many more are to come.
