Tbh it's the school's fault seeing as they should have been far more secure.

I guess the 38 years is just a total sum of his offences were as the murdera just gets 10 years from murder although his sentence should be life. Little pathetic on both sides.

The reason why murders and paedophiles only get 10 is because of overcrowding in the cells and them not having space for everyone, yet ironically they will have space to keep people for longer periods for less minor offences. It's very idiotic.

I really doubt he will get 38 years.

This story is about a guy in America where they give them proper sentences :) they also give murderers proper sentences and I think Britain could learn alot from them but our political parties are to weak to get really tough im afraid which is what we need to deter the morons who commit the crime in the UK.

Um... that's the USA, not Britain... although sometimes you can get away with 10 years there, they still have the death sentence.
That is rather ridiculous, the BNP would never allow this! :P
Unfortunately, the BNP isn't running for president.

That's because he's in America.
If someone commits murder in America they are most likely to be jailed for life, actual life.

I really doubt he will get 38 years.
Same, and whatever he gets he will be released in half the time with good behaviour anyway.

I dont think he will do in america lol they add time on for bad behaviour and not take it off for good behaviour which is a far better way to do things.

Well that's the reason they have the largest prison population in the western world - by far.

It's not right... The kid could be employed by the school to improve their system instead of leaving the security vunerabilities, damn the kid has a future and americans are too freakin blind to see that. =/

It's becaue he commited 69 different offences apparently.

All probably the same thing, just named differently. Thats the sort of attitude American courts have, they'll reword a offense just to make them sound more criminal.

Anything that's scary or can been seen as dangerous to the state is 'dealt with' by the US authorities.

In America it's very unlikely you'd get 10 years for murder, life is usually life there.
