Today I went round alot of clothes shops all the mainstream ones like Burton Topman and H&M and a few independent stores and I was shocked at how for men in the summer range of most shops they've used the worst colour known to man as the MAIN colour for the season.

Cerulean Blue!

Its disgusting and i was even more shocked when i saw white wash i dont wanna get started on white wash i shall stick to the point.

Cerulean is such an old colour we dont need it please dont make us all look like giant toddlers again. Its just a bland boring colour. Sometimes the odd garment can be pulled off but when you get cerulean Jackets and bags and shoes and ***** its just horrible. I dont wanna have to wear cerulean i mean this might make nudism more popular!

Anyone else agree?

Its just the colour of years past I dont want it back its just going to ruin the summer collections everywhere.

^ Look at the scarf and sweater vest EWWWWW and those are from like 2002 so in summer were gonna have things like cerulean tank tops and mini skirts and shorts!

By summer time ill want to buy new clothes because im not gonna wear my fall and spring clothes because ill want summer clothes but if all you can get is cerulean then it becomes a problem because ranges will focus on that colour and everything in other colours wont be as good as those in cerulean.

Well said, if shops didnt provide other ranges apart from the current 'fashion' then they would lose alot of customers because not everyone likes certain trends.

What im saying is that they put effort into the main collection and then basically remake last seasons ideas for the other clothing in stores. So basically all the fresh new ideas will all incorporate cerulean.
For example in fall the main colours were browns and creams like 90% of all clothing in fall was in brown or cream and the rest was just remakes of last seasons stuff.

If you're saying it's going to look bad, you mustn't know how to make colours work with eachother like others.

Everyone knows cerulean barely goes with anything. Its like clothing for smurfs. Cerulean only works with white and black and you need a twig like figure to pull it off and you still end up looking pretty crap. Cerulean is painful on the eyes and its one of those colours that just doesnt look right at all. Cerulean is a colour that gets used typically in Wool which only looks good with trench coats and anything in cotton that is cerulean ends up clinging and looking wrong on anyone without a twigish figure. Cerulean wasnt carried over to other season not even slightly why do we need it now?

anyone with a slightly more curvy figure than size 2 looks bad ^

Cerulean is just awful, I dont wanna be caught dead wearing it. Well unless it was in a trench coat because trench coats are hot!

How many times do you want to say Cerulean? There's plenty of colours it goes with, you just need to know how to make things work.

I know how to make colours work. Blue in general is a fantastic colour. But Cerulean Blue isnt. Just the colours shade makes it hard to use especially the aqua tones of it. I think in general to it suits women alot more the men.

There are lots of colours it can go with, brown being one of them. If you can't make any colour work, then you can't make colours work.

That isn't a bad combination at all, and it isn't a clash at all. Maybe you're more of a follower of what is in during seasons than disregarding preference for merging to the must wear what's in trend.

The chocolate brown and the blue goes perfectly well with eachother, and lets be honest - who has more knowledge of what colours do and don't go? Famous fashion designers or you, an average Joe?

Designers haha its funny because they make clothes to appeal to consumers. They may think cerulean looks good but face it last time it came into fashion it looked awful hardly anyone wore it and it just pretty much failed. Chocolate brown does go with blue BUT NOT CERULEAN. Fashion isnt a knowledge its an opinion the opinions of designers get forced onto consumers and the ones who reject bad designs instead of excepting them as mainstream make the fashion industry. The fashion industry is about the consumer not the designer.

There wouldn't be anything for the consumers to buy if the fashion designers didn't design the clothes they design so you're wrong. Yes it's about preference but if you're not going to risk mixing colours, you're not one to pass such extreme judgement. If they made clothes just to appeal to consumers, there wouldn't be such flamboyant and over-the-top designs hitting the runway every single year. Some are for show, others are for wearing - it depends on the flare of the design. It does go with Cerulian, I'll argue that until I'm blue (no pun intended) in the face. Fashion is a knowledge, you either are fashionable or you're not.

I wouldn't say it failed either, it's just most "consumers" as you say aren't willing to risk things, they play it safe with default/bland colours. It doesn't look good.

:Liam

I never said i have never risked mixing colours? ive tried almost lots of colour combinations and Ive worn cerulean myself and i was stating my own personal opinion. I never said that we dont want catwalk designs? I was saying Cerulean is wrong for the everyday consumer. I'm saying I dont want to wear cerulean and that not many average joes as you put it do. Yes its fine on the catwalk. I love models and new trends but im saying we dont need it to be derived into all of our summer collections. We would still have tailors if we didnt have designers. We did have clothes before designers came.

Catwalk-wise cerulean was a massive success because lots of big designers used it. But if you look at actually clothing in stores and what consumers buy it was a huge failure and it hasnt been reused since 2002 until now in the main collections.

I will argue fashion is definately an opinion, Fashion that seems to be knowledge is just the opinion of one person passed down to everyone therefore becoming a knowledge but because there is no one set way of fashion it cant be defined as a knowledge therefore its an opinion.

Can you not read? If you read back in the thread i have explained why i said this.

Cerulean is the MAIN colour of the season therefore the main garments of the season that have the most effort put into them will be made in cerulean. So everything else in other colours will have less time spent on it, It will look worse and will lack new designs because they will reuse old designs.

You need to get out more if you think they lack design and look crap.

DONT BLOODY WEAR THE COLORS IF YOU DISLIKE THEM BUY OTHER COLORS, there will always be other choices in fashion. Always.
