I've just been looking at rebuilding my PC, And this is what I've come up with;

Allied PSU 500W ATXPFC 12cm fan SATA 1 to 2 RoHS - 500W12PPFC - www.microdirect.co.uk (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/%2837242%29Allied-PSU-500W-ATXPFC-12cm-fan-SATA-1-to-2-RoHS.aspx) - Optional PSU, Which is 500W, It's 19 pounds more but I get a free 400W PSU with the case, is it really worth paying?

ThermalTake HARDCANO 14HDD COOLER A2321 - A2321 - www.microdirect.co.uk (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/%2815238%29ThermalTake-HARDCANO-14HDD-COOLER-A2321.aspx) - Cooler

SoundBlaster Audigy SE 7.1 surroundsound Internal oem - 30SB057000000 - www.microdirect.co.uk (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?ProductID=11248&Desc=1#ShowReview) - Sound Card

ATi Radeon X1650PRO 512MB PCI-E DVI, TV Out Oem - 13297 - www.microdirect.co.uk (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/%2816649%29ATi-Radeon-X1650PRO-512MB-PCIE--DVI-TV-Out-Oem.aspx) - Graphics Card

So all together, it comes to;
269.71 with a 400W PSU - or
288.76 with a 500W PSU

So basically, tell me what you think, what could be improved and is worth buying the larger PSU?

:) Thanks.

Looks alright, but you really don't need the HDD cooler. Hard drives work better when they are warmer.

I thought they blew up when they were too warm? :S

Nah, they start to malfunction when they hit 50c+. I can tell you now that isn't going to happen unless you have like 7 hard drives packed together

Okay =] And the PSU, What difference does the exta 100W make, and is it worth buying?

Nah, with those specs a 400w PSU should be fine.

Looks ok for a basic, budget PC.
