Eee PCs in Italy are REALLY popular and advertised ALOT. I've just come back and the family I stayed with has one (I thought it was great) and everywhere in Newspapers, Magazines and other adverts the Eee PC was being advertised LOADS.

Why not here - it's such a good little PC.

I was actually gonna get that, but now I prefer the Acer Aspire One, which is basically the same.

It's an 8GB SSD, not 8GB RAM.

mynes 4gb HDD its not a computer for playing big games onApparently you can open it up then unplug the built-in webcam and use the USB socket inside for a flash drive, like a 8GB one? Sounds a good idea but not sure if it's possible.

I mean, why have them black spaces... they may as well have it as the screen or get rid of it or something... maybe put speakers there. :P

black spaces inbetween the screen? on the 70x series they are speakers. On the 90x series they made a 8.9" screen, eliminating this problem.

You are able to open up the case and remove the webcam plugged in via USB, then replace it with a mini cord that goes to a female USB and use the space beside the RAM in the back to inset an internal 3G modem, bluetooth, GPS, memory stick. If you're good with mods you can mod a usb hub to plug in internally, as long as whatever you plug into the internal USB hub doesn't exceed 500ma you're good to go(for example you could have an internal bluetooth, GPS, a flash stick, and if you're willing to, purchase a specially made touchscreen kit from ebay to equpit to the EEE, that's what I plan on doing to mine, that or get my device internal bluetooth support.)

thing is though. In canada atleast you can by a better specced full size laptop for cheaper then a Eee pc.

Then either the EEEpc is really expensive in Canada or the full size laptops are really cheap. Full Sized laptop for less than £180-200?

Not really. Duo Core laptops here are around $800, my EEE was $399. I prefer my EEE over my 17" laptop any day.
