View Full Version : Argh- Belly Piercing!

I've had my belly pierced for 4 months now, and at the end of April I had to change my belly bar because I lost the ball of my original one and it fell out.
It was fine, but last month I got a little lump on the inside of my belly button around the piercing. I kept it clean but every time I put my belly bar back in it kept on weeping and bleeding.

Anyway, today I took my belly bar out because I had this scab around it and when I went to put it back in, there was a blood blister on the top hole meaning I can't put it my bar back in.

Will this go? And will the lump go? It's grew more today and is weeping alot. What can I do?

Thanks for any advice given. +Rep also.

Sound like an infection, the best thing is to get it checked out at the doctors or wherever you got it pierced.

I read somewhere to never take the piercing out when its infected.

Get to the doctors because you might need some anti-biotics.

Plus would be peace of mind for yourself :)

Hey there,

As everyone else said, you're best of going to the doctors - because it's better to be safe than sorry, right?

Up until you visit the doctor, keep your current belly bar in and do your best to keep it clean.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice so far.
Jay, I can't put any belly bar in now- it's scabbed over.
I'll go and see my doctor though. :)
But I've learnt I look better without a bellybar in anyway, oh well!

I've had an infection with a piercing once before and I went to the piercer who told me to go the doctors, so I would consider doing that. Even if it's nothing it's better to be safe then sorry.

I havn't been to see the doctor yet but it seems alot better, it isn't bleeding or weeping but it has closed up.

Sounds like what my sister had, she had an alergic reaction towards the bar she has in. Check that out, it will keep coming back otherwise.
