View Full Version : Microsoft bans TinyURL links from instant messages

Every few weeks we see a another, perfectly safe domain name getting blocked by Messenger's annoying and above all ineffecient server-side SPIM filter. Today's victim is TinyURL, a popular URL-shortening service that gets over 1.5 billion hits each month. Messages containing a TinyURL link won't get passed the evil filter.

Getting this out to the world, Microsoft will hopefully kick the *** of the third party managing the list of blocked domains and undo the blunder.

The TinyURL links. When you make a long link into one of them tiny links with a .com at the end and /some random letters etc. They have banned them.

Microsoft are always blocking and unblocking things, do you reckon some WLM Nerds just go to work in the morning, block them and as they're going home, they unblock them and laugh at how many people have noticed on all these fansites.
