We had to fight tooth and nail to get a members debate sub-forum so we could make our own debates because you did not want us to ruin your oh so great debates :o can i ask you why you have not bothered adding any in god knows how long? are you going to add any more debates? or maybe get rid of yours and let the members take control? you must admit alot of your debates were pretty poor and lacked much response so i think the current members debates is the way forward. :) if not then add some hxf debates ;)

+Rep to Wootzeh (if i can) for pointing out in complaints that some trigger happy mod has closed a debate that is valid until at least DECEMBER 21st 2012 :o debates do not need closing for bumping at all unless there is a big change and the debate is no longer valid.

EDIT: I must also point out how mature everybody has been in the member debates and cant remember a mod needing to do one edit :)

I agree. Most debates bore me. Apart from the Hala one which me and jrh blatantly won (H)

Yes it was good and the opposition ended up trying to insult us instead of debate ;)

Halal does not interest everybody though and as long as a debate is popular it will rise to the top while the rubbish ones sink :) I dont think the hxf ones work when there are time limits and pretty poor topics. I do know sierk wanted the debates to be run by hxf with time limits though which is perhaps why they still sort of exist but i have never been for it.

Since the forum manager role was removed (along with assistant) there is nobody assigned to doing it. As such, nobody has done it, it would seem.

There is actually a few debates already written in the Admin section waiting to be moved, it's just never happened.

Hmmmmm so who is actually meant to sort the forum stuff if nobdy is assigned to do so? does each admin have their own list of jobs to do and this was overlooked? and if thats the case who is assigned to keep an eye on them to make sure everything is done and to a good standard with no forum manager?

That does indeed appear to be the case. It sounds like a job that would be suited to the community support team, I'll suggest it to them :)

That's not really how it goes. Both me and Nick are just "general" forum administrators, Alex runs the moderation, Jin does the server, OSH is also general. There are no specific assigned roles. :)

As ever, MAD oversees everything.

Well to be honest you were doing really well as FM bringing in alot of decent changes and common sense and if there is an issue with the forum then it was up to MAD or preferably Sierk to have a chat and put it right :) so really MAD is the unofficial forum manager again? surely he has enough to contend with sorting the site etc. I have not seen MAD about for a few weeks :o has he been kidnapped? there must be some reason why there isnt a new member revolution on the cards.

MAD has always been the "unofficial forum manager" as well as the "unofficial manager" for everything else. Any major changes have to go through him first; he has final say on pretty much everything. MAD is still about, he sent me a PM yesterday so I don't think his kidnappers are doing too well ;)

I can remember a number of great site and forum managers well before MAD was about so its not ALWAYS. I think a strong forum manager with good ideas and wanting to make changes even that MAD did not like caused issues between staff and with moral so with doing away with the forum manager role makes it easier for him to dictate whats going to happen in all areas.

Alex is doing fine, Catszy is doing fine, and the debates forum shall be sorted (most likely) when MAD gets online.

Jin's busy playing traffic cop at music festivals :P (He's going to kill me for that) and sorting bugs the rest of the time nowadays.
