The wholesale cost for DVDs and games is usually around half the price of the RRP.

You have to pay for the wholesalers' services. So no, your plan won't work, lol

They often buy them off the companies that make games.

What plan LOL?
I'm actually doing research for a project i've been given, its based upon all large companies charged extra ;'( its rather depressing!

Ah, I thought your plan was to buy games from wholesalers. But yes, a fee has to be paid to get the license to distribute rentals, then wholesalers sell the products at about half the RRP and a continous fee is paid for the use of their service. And no, the developers and distributors do not sell.

I've been told so many things either through word of mouth or websites.

The companies such as Game, Gamestation, Woolworths buy the games directly from the manufactores then add the percentage on to make it double price paid for.

Is this correct lol?
