View Full Version : What's the difference between using mobileme push email and just a normal imap email?

I'm just wondering the differences really, as I don't see why one is better than the other because if I receive an email in my aol email address it shows on my N95, Laptop, iPod Touch. If I read it on one device it gets marked as read on all the others too.

So what's the main difference in how it works to mobileme's email?

Or something like exchange.

(Just looking at the email aspect here, not calenendering or address book syncing etc.)

Exchange gives you a full online "Outlook" interface, used in the web browser. MobileMe has other features to, but with email, it is just imap basically.

All push means is that instead of you directly having to check emails, they arrive automatically.
