High School Musical should be burnt, the actors should be burnt, the people that like it should be burnt.

High School musical is a childrens version of American Pie tbh. I will watch HSM3 to see what it's like but if you think about it, American Pie and HSM are very similar indeed.

I would never have put them two together.
American Pie about a group of lads wanting abit, and one getting of with the others mum - whilst just being completly horny. An to top it all of none of them break into musical.
High School Musical is nothing like American Pie, there is no alikeness to them at all. HSM is just about teenagers growing up and making choices in school and realtionship's. ;)
There's gonna be a preview on Disney Channel at like 6pm.

The song played it called "Now Or Never".
Movie looks ace. I'm 17 and I love HSM... there is an innocence there... nobody is killed or anything... it's nice to escape into that world where everything is OK in end.
Plus Efron is fit as.
Inseriousity.

I don't mind it and I wouldn't compare it to American Pie either... unless you count the fact they're both American?
I find it annoying how they decided to get loads of money out of it by putting it on the cinemas. I don't like it that much...

American Pie 1 is about a jock who gets involved in singing. He likes a girl who also sings. His friends don't like the fact he sings. He has to choose the game or the singing finals. Him and the girl fall out over his jockish antics. In the end he does the singing and gets the girl. And oh look at that it's practically the same as HSM. Just American Pie has boobs instead of songs.
Plus after American Pie 3 they got a new cast to do 4. Like what HSM are doing.
It really is a Disney version of American Pie in my opinion.

A new cast was chosen for American Pie 4 onwards because they were straight-to-DVD releases done for cheap and churned out in about 2 weeks.

Only in Cinemas. The original Gabriella is in it still lol, I wouldn't call it childish but I wouldn't go see it in cinemas lol. The sneak preview didn't reveal much :P

LMAO its nothing like American pie, just because of that one thing that dosn't even make up the whole movie anyways, it's nothing like HSM and never will be - however long you try and compare. American Pie was based around some horny boys, and 4 was redone because it was cheap and no one was going cinema to see it. An in all honesty Disney always doe's movie's about singing; take there new one Camp Rock for example .. Not much of a diffrence from HSM. Its nothing like American pie, that's got to be one of the most stupidest thing's I've heard in a long time.
An also Disney is recasting HSM4 because there earning enough viewers to take it to cinema's.
An he isn't even the main character in American Pie, that annoying one who got his hand stuck to his penis with glue was. So no, its not much like HSM at all apart from that one thing when he just wanted to TAPPPP that anyways.

The American Pie franchise from the third sequel onwards are straight-to-DVD because various mainstream studios are capitalising on the fact that DVDs make a lot more revenue than films do in theatrical runs.
As forthe fourth High School Musical, it is going to be a TV movie like the first two, and recast because the characters of the first three would be leaving "high school".

Oh Dear...
Dear intelligence,
I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Television.
I know how difficult this must be for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. The great television was such a kind, gentle soul. She would do anything to help someone in need.
I remember one time the good 8pm programs, that everyone liked.
I know how much you will miss nice programs. I encourage you to draw on your strength and the strength of your family.
May God bless you and your family during this time and always,

I'm saying they might, seeing as it would generate millions during Christmas, as people will buy for presents and such. And I don't think HSM would last that long in Cinemas.

I guess. But there has been a very long transition between filming > editing and release... perhaps they are doing it before the movie is released in cinema to rush it out?
I don't know. Either way it looks great... I really can't wait. Nothing like releasing your inner tween. Although going to cinema will be embarassing... shall have to take my little cousin as cover.

Maybe we have more sense than the Disney execs?
I mean, they're going to make a bomb from the cinema release anyway whereas with the tv releases they needed the DVD sales to make any kind of revenue whereas the DVD sales are not as important this time around.
It's possible it could be the biggest selling movie ever?

The fanbase of High School Musical would not even make it close to being the biggest selling film of all time, compared to so many films this year, it is one of the least anticipated worldwide. TV-to-big screen transitions never go off as successfully as anticipated, look at Sex And The City for a recent example, and the fanbase of that over the years is greater than that of HSM I'm sure.
DVD is more important that cinematic release as the amount of money made is tenfold in comparison, but they will not churn it out 2 months after theatrical release because it will still be showing in cinemas at Christmas. Films do not need holidays to succeed apart from Christmas, so it does not matter to Disney when it is released, give it February/March.

I meant worldwide because High School Musical has fans in every country in their millions even in the middle east.
As for the DVD, you may have a point but because it is aimed at children... they usually put it out at a time kids get a lot spent on them.

Yes it is going into cinema.
HSM 1&2 was not put in cinema's so you could watch it for free, and then the last one where everything comes to a end they put it in cinema so you have to pay, and by then you want to watch it.
Somehow I don't think its going to break cinema records.

Yeah but they have adapted it to make it cinema worthy. Bigger dance moves, better effects and a longer film time.
The tv movies took just 6 weeks to film including rehearsals. Movie took two months.
