Ear piercing? No alcohol?

If you're getting your ear pierced are you not allowed to drink alcohol for so many hours before you get it done?

Erm never thought it was a problem, maybe they say that so your not drunk incase you just go when you really dont want it doing.

The only reason piercers tell you not to drink after a piercing is because people have a tendency to drink, lose a bit of feeling and play with the piercing because it isn't hurting them whilst under the influence, which of course tampers with the healing process. Going by how little some piercers seem to know of their own art though, I'd guess some of them don't even know that and just say it because they heard it elsewhere.

Before a piercing, just don't tell them lol.
