Hello everyone,
In this week's news we posted news of a change to Rule 10: Misuse of Customer Support.
In this thread, we'd like to give you more detail on this change.
We receive several thousand reports every week under Rule 10: Misuse of Customer Support; however, less very few of these abuse reports contain any evidence of a rule break and, of the ones that do, none have been actioned under Rule 10: Misuse of Customer Support.
This is often because players submit an abuse report if they believe an incorrect report has been made against them. There’s no need to worry, though; if you have been falsely reported, we will simply dismiss the report once it has been received. There is no need to send a report, as our Player Support staff see all false reports submitted and ensure that no action is taken.
We have therefore, removed the option to report players for Rule 10: Misuse of Customer Support from the 'Report Abuse' screen. The Rule itself has not been removed or changed and we will continue to take the appropriate action against players who break it.
We believe this change to the report screen has helped us to add clarity to the rule and spend more time on matters that you appreciate: dealing with RuneScape’s more disruptive players and spending more time in-game, meeting the players who make up our fine community.
