You do know the DPA is the UK? Doesn't mean it classes for the whole world.

Yes, but British users' information should still be held under the DPA in whatever country it is held in because it's from Britain.

Or is my Irish ICT teacher talking bull?

If the server is held over seas (in America or somewhere) then English law has no control over what YouTube does with the information.

Like the Digital Millennium Copyright Act having no control over sites like TPB.

Yeh unless the server is in the UK, english law doesn't really apply.

I wasn't even worried anyway all I do is search game montages and funny things I also sometimes watch some fights, nothing to worry about if they handed it over anyway.

Well, its going too far. Like they only want it so they can see who watches their shows which aren't supposed to be uploaded on there.

No, I just don't want people following me on YouTube and seeing what kind of things I watch and when.
