I applied online for a job at Lakeside Apple Retail Store as Concierge, and they want me to go in for a chat now?
I'm only (approaching) sixteen.. should I mention it? LOL.

Shall we trust you like we did when you said "I GONE 3G" Anyway, if it is true. Good Luck.
they will ask for an N.I number which you get when your 16 :P (if your English :S)]
Good luck though :)
depending on if it is an age restricted job, it shouldnt play a factor. Im sure they have the right paper work to employ 15 year olds and also, it would be age discrimination if they decided not to due to ur age

Age discrimination? LMAO. Not really, So your saying 14 year olds can go in and get a job at the Apple store and if they say no its age discrimination? Well no, there is laws into hiring staff and Policies that the companies can make.

I never seen 15 year olds work in an Apple Store, Im sure 16+. But Apple do something for people who have just graduated from school or college.

If you want, i'll record the voicemail onto the PC if you like.
Plus, I think they can turn me down because of my age, because some law complicated stuff. Who knows. Should I mention it? Paha.
yes, but once again... i said IF apple have the right paper work :)
i was employed at 15 in a shop. They have to have some sprt of insurance in the shop but im not sure what.

Yeah, but being employed in a shop (probably a corner one) and being employed in an Apple Retail Store are two very different things.
i was actually employed at subway, a big business... not very different things

Yeah they are two different things. Im sure if they like what you say, like you have knowledge of Macs and such. And then say about your age, you may get lucky? Or they tell you to come back in a year or two when your a bit older.

I can't see it anywhere on the site, and when I was in the store I met a 17-year-old Concierger.

Why is there a job thread in the Apple forum :S I think one of the mods hasn't had enough sleep :P
If they like the sounds of you, then they'll hire you. It's not exactly a big job working in an Apple store, you just have to sit there talking about Apple products :/

Moan moan moan... I think your age could play a factor with them hiring you. I thought for most places you had to be 16 or if it isn't a law I reckon most big companies would only employ 16+ year olds. You'll have to tell them because you're bound to be asked your age and you can't really lie to them if they're interested.

I doubt they'll employ you if you're not 16. I think you can only work a few hours if you don't have a NI number and so it won't be enough hours for them to pay you a regular store wage. Thank you though as because of this thread, I may apply for a job at my Apple store :P
some companys are tight on age. I think once you tell them your age they will say no (MIGHT SAY YES!) I am working full time (as u know ollie) as an electrician and one day at college, im only alowed to do 40 hours a week or something like that. the only reason why i think they will say no is coz u only want a job for a short time. then again L_w might jump onto you most prob the way ur going LOL

he can't earn over £100 without a national insurance, coz of tax, even if he earned £100.01, he wouldnt be allowed to earn tht much coz over £100 > Eligible to be taxed.
So Yeah earn under £100 > Not taxed! > Free to work without N.I
