I was listening to music and it just suddenly stopped and whenever I click anything, nothing happens. It's just staying on the same screen - Does anyone know why it's doing this and how to fix it?

Hold down the menu and center button for 5seconds, it'll reboot it and it'll go back to normal. Don't worry, it wont wipe your songs and stuff.

Truly resets. Doesn't do anything to the iPod. If that doesn't work, let the battery waste away.

Do it again. Plug it into your PC then disconnect it, that might clear the problem.

If you're ipod is less than 1 year old, it is still covered by Apple warrenty. If you bring it to the local apple store, they might have a fix for it there and then, but if they dont they will send it off to be repaired.

I really reccomend you do this if u can

I tried plugging it into the computer when it was frozen and it just made everything lag and iTunes kept saying "Not responding".

It seems to only freeze on a particular song... :S

Try this fix ;

and if it only freezes on a certain song, it could be corrupted. Re-download the song and delete the old one

The song might be corrupted, don't know how or why, but deleting it might help. If you reset it, then plug it into your pc and do it it shouldn't lag as much.

I don't see how the song could suddenly become corrupted; I've listened to it hundreds of times before.

If it's only one song for the moment, i serously wouldent be worried about it, id just move on. If it works normally just re download the song if you absolutely LOVE it ;]

I'm resurrecting this thread because it's happening again, a lot more frequently and this time nearly every 5 minutes it freezes.
Help? :(

Connect it to the PC and Im sure there is a reset button on iTunes, it wipes your iPod and restores it to when it was bought. If you have all your songs and stuff on your iTunes anyway, go for it and then re-sync it and see what happens. Good luck.

Yeah do a complete install, and if you haven't already, update your iPod to the latest firmware (Check for updates>install). If all else fails, bring it back to the store and have them look at it, just pay them the money I guess, or if you can also go to a regular shop to repair it (cheaper but not that reliable).

Good luck.

don't reset it. What you gotta do is press the middle circle and press the top button. Hold it in, this is manually restart it.

I do that every time it freezes and it gets it going again, but it will freeze around 10 minutes later. I forgot to mention that it only freezes on certain songs too. :S
