Missed the best ISP in the UK (02/Be). Upto 24mb, £18 a month and unlimited downloads without traffic shaping like BT and VM.

BeThere. www.bethere.co.uk

Or is you have a contract with o2 then get them. o2 own BeThere, so it's a similar service but cheaper if you have an o2 contract. http://broadband.o2.co.uk/

There's no best ISP... Virgin Media are rubbish in loads of places, as are Orange, O2, BeThere etc. It all depends on area, rather than who has which and for how much. In my area, Orange and Tiscali are very good, while Virgin Media is incredibly bad :P

I have Orange anyway, it's great :D

I wouldn't recommend BT. Theres always been a problem with them and their customer support is really poor.

Virgin Media are very good where I live. Had no problems since we got it god knows how many years ago and the speed is good.

BeThere / O2.co.uk

I suggest o2 broadband, as you can get discounts if you are an o2 contract customer or top up your phone £10 a week I believe, I am with o2 but not a phone customer, you are provided with all the equipment required to connect to the internet, and 100 free texts per month.

Edit: You can use the un-bundelled "Access" package which I am currently using, visit http://broadband.o2.co.uk/home/findmore.jsp

Re-edit: Extras;

No download limits
Free UK customer service, 24/7
O2 wireless box
McAfee security software
Enhanced email and messaging services
O2 contacts
