Hey guys, I'm currently using my sisters desktop computer for MS Flight Simulator 2004. (I use my mac mini for everything else) Anyway, she's not going to be here much longer and most likely taking her computer with her. So I need a new desktop computer that will run Flight Simulator 2004 great and smooth. I don't want to spend loads of £££££. I have been looking at the Dell XPS range, and quite like what they offer. But was wondering if you lot have any other recommendations. I would build a custom built one, but I don't have a clue where to start such as building them. So yeah, Hmm recommendations would be at least 2GB ram, And no less then a 320GB hard drive, also a good graphics card. Anything else, make it good. Max budget will be about £800.

I'm running a Packard Bell iMedia. Runs FSX really well, GeForce 7050.

What exactly do you need for £800? Monitor, speakers, printer, keyboard and mouse as well etc? And how comfortable are you about custom building?

I don't need a monitor, speakers, printer but keyboard and mouse would do. Hmm, Custom building. I guess I could do it but I would need some sort of guide or someone to help me along.

Matt, remind me later on on MSN to give you the links to where I built my desktop. All can be customised etc to your specification and found the service great for the price I was spending which is below your budget which helps :)

That was was; £764.00. I configure an Intel machine later on tonight, or if anyone wants to do me one similar to above then go for it.

The case you've chosen is very expesive so it will bump the price up a fair bit.

Indeed. That case is made for extreme overclockers and watercoolers.

But it looks really nice. If you'd rather have better looks than better specs, then by all means you should buy it.

If your up for it. And can change anything on there, or even choose the Intel side. Any chance you could do the same like I did? It be appreciated. +REP =] The case to me, isn't a big thing. As long as it all fits in and switches on! :P

i configured this myself :) and intend to build it this summer.

its a VERY decent system for the price, so you can spend the remainder of the cash somewhere else, if you want me to spec an intel system or a system with higher specs, just ask.

btw building your own computer is a doddle, its VERY simple few screws here and few there, just get a guide and youll be fine :)
