300 jobs at where I work (Stewart Milne) are at risk of being made redundant and mine is one of them ;[. 90 of them being at the office where I work. That's 40% of our office.

Due to the downfall in housing market (Stewart Milne build and supply timber frame housing).

dismissal from work because a job ceases to exist. Redundancy occurs most frequently when an employer goes out of business necessitating a cutback ..

Stewart Milne have to cut back so many jobs because there isn't enough work for everyone. I only did one thing today that's to do with my normal role, rest I was helping work mate with his.

That's really tough :( My understanding is, it's normally last in, first out, and you have to have worked a certain length of time there, before you are entitled to any redundancy pay. Hope you are one of the lucky ones!

Sad to hear it. I've just been told that this call centre is making people redundant as 'technology is improving so it can get back into the competition efficently' or something stupid like that. My friend works there so he'll be out of a job soon most probably. :(
