1) he kicks or strangles people who call her ugly.

2) he loves helping her but dont give a poo about anyone elses problems

Couldn't have said it better, it's a case of obsession. I used to be like that, but most people are prone to it in their 'puppy love' phase. I was, haha good times. Give it time and he won't see the fuss about her at all, honestly.
