Mod must approve messages for new members

I have found this "a moderator must approve your message" thing very annoying, surely it takes more time to approve all the posts than to just delete and ban spam bots or whatever the problem behind this system was?

Many large forums do this, for the first 10 - 20 posts to check wether you're here to spam, annoy, bully etc and then they can approve you. I mean, letting a spammer onto the forums is like letting a terrorist into America.

It's miles better, you don't get random accounts signing up advertising their company or others spamming the forum with porn.

Yeah, good say and if they get banned and sign up again, they have to get pass that.

The moderators are getting quicker because before, not all the moderators had the correct permissions.

Speaking of this, can mine end now. MODs are sooo slow are sorting it.

You need to also remember its summer, and we're currently down to 2 admins and 3 Super Moderators, so things will be slightly slower until people start returning. ;)

However, to compensate, all normal moderators can now also approve posts.

I never knew this :) mainly becuase i have been nearly a year sinc ei joined but i do think it is a good idea :)

If all of your first 15 posts haven't been approved yet, then you will still be a moderated user.

Some places I can post instantly (like the debates section) but others still need to be approved and I've got nearly 40 posts now :s

Hmm I origninally came up witgh this idera, and you should be able to post normally at 15 posts.

But yeh, it has stopped spammers, which in the morning used to be REALLY annoying!

you should do 7 posts instead of 15.
