My RW-CD for some reason doesn't like XP/VISTA computers - I no longer have a Win98/Win95 CD though so... I was wondering if anyone here has had & fixed this problem:

Basically the CD is showing my it's system logs and what I believe to be my files are HEAVILY encrypted...

The file extensions are like:
.CU_
.CP_
.HT_
.WM_
.TL_
.TT_
.MI_

... you get the idea... I've already had a little look around the internet but can't find any useful information about how to fix the CD
(and I've never seen any, even remotely legal, restore software for CDs mostly they are old Goverment restore cracks etc... and I don't really wana download one of those.)

Anyone got any idea? (No, i'm not just gona reformat the CD because it contains files I need to keep.)

It sounds like the CD containts temporary files which is very strange, copy them off the CD and change the extensions to what they should be and see if that helps or just try and open them with the program they were made for.
