What exactly does it do?
I've just purchased it, but I don't care about security enhancements and stuff, does it give me anything fun to do?

NO some of the apps are free, why don't you actually look on itunes first...

Go to itunes store then click "App Store". You can browse and download them there too then sync them.

Then change your iTunes store your language to English. You can also save web images to your photo album by holding your finger on it. Google iPod touch 2.0 features.

2.0 = Firmware, They don't just release firmware for features. They do it for security and so on. So there is a point of bringing another one out. 2.1 has even been mentioned.
