View Full Version : curfew

luber

yeah, they're starting a 9pm curfew for under 16's.

this is really starting to annoy me.
the government, and the elderly's perception of the adolecent stage, thinking they're all causing trouble, and breaking people knee's for fun.

i'm so responsible & considerate when i go out.
but i still get looks of intimidation from the elderly.

& the government are already letting PCO's dispurse groups larger than two, for 'disturbing the peace'
it's bull ****.

if this law comes in where i live, i'm gunna end up getting arrested, because 9pm is just ******* stupid.

Course no ones going to listen to 9pm rules.
Some days when my parents are on holiday, or leaving me house (Dads giving me house for 3 days v. soon) I go out at about 10pm, so i'd be breaking the law straight away.

well, my & my mates are usually still about the city center at 11:30pm.
then we get the last bus home, or we stay at toms, which is right outside of town.
& we go for walks & stuff at like 3am sometimes & stuff.

hopefully the law will get overthrown, if not, i'm going to gordon brown myself, ahaha.

maybe if you turned yr pc off & went outside & enjoyed the fun with them, you'd be fine.

i dont understand how people can be on the pc so much.
i'm waiting for my mate to get showered, then we're off into town.

i'm usually on about an hour a day maybe, but maybe a bit longer if i'm waiting around.

turn it off, and enjoy it.

theres all those laws because the government listens to old people, because they vote in large numbers. you, an under-16-year-old, cannot vote, thus you don't matter. they dont lose a voting base, because you cant vote anyway, so they can make a law saying under 16-year-olds have to wear underwear on their head if they wanted. as long as people who vote are happy, and those people happen to be old and grumpy people. sucks, but its the way it is.

where i live, we dont have a specific curfew, but we do have a driving curfew, no one under 18 past midnight.

28-07-2008, 01:14 PM
round here they let anything slide theyre all dumb as ****. Me and 4 mates hammered out of out skulls at 4 in the morning, took cones and set up a road block cos sum old people moaned we were being loud when we wernt. They called the police on us so we were walking back, they sent an unmarked car but luckily I knew it was unmarked becuase they always use red focuses. So they pulled up by us, asked us if we did it we said "no" one one of my mates had just ran off. They just left the roadblock there and drove off, we were the only 4 people there so who else could it have been

the skanks who get £2.50, and get stupid drunk on a bottle of cider, then get walked home by the lads with thier hair all over the place, missing a show, puke down their white tops.
yeah, annoys me too.
i wouldn't care if they were more considerate tbh, but they just aint.
for some reason, a bunch of them have been drinking right near my girlfriends house recently god knows why, it's a quiet suburb, but yano, they'll drink anywhere i guess.
& they're just so loud & that, it's a pisstake, cuz my girlfriend has a baby tht goes to bed at seven, and they're just oud as ****.

but not all 14 year olds are scrotes like that.
like, i'm just 15, so yano.
& when me & my mates drink, we stay in town, buy our drink, (usually whiskey, gin & beer lol) & then go back to toms.
we don't usually drink out on the streets, but if we ever do, we're dead quiet, and don't even litter a bottle.

I heard about this, and in my town drinking is quite a huge thing with the kiddies and so is drugs and criminal damage. I'm actually glad they're putting it to that down here, because here is quite out of control. It's a shame that it's happening to all under 16s, but I guess it's always a few give a crowd a bad name.

My parents who are coppers, are all for it too lol. It won't help that much, it's just giving them a bigger job. Teenagers will just move away from city areas and go to fields like they will down here. there's enough fields.

also a lot of people i know and are friends with hang about with older people, like 19/20 year olds and they wont have 14 year olds to kiddie fiddel anymore if this curfew gets put into place so hopefully they will be able to get a life, yay

Pyroka
01-08-2008, 06:12 PM
Well Cornwall's quite quiet so they can do it without making a huge impact on the rest of the UK. If it were done in a town near London (or any other city), there would be a load of arguments and speculation about it.

Thats what I think anyway, Redruth is a big town in Cornwall so you'd get similar results in other towns across the UK.

That would never happen in my area. I look way older than I am anyway.

I can't believe it's for under 16s anyway, since I always thought the trouble makers were ages 16- 19ish... I would have thought the under 16 curfew is more for your protection than to stop you being a threat.

To those people who don't believe it, I saw it on the news - can't remember which area... somewhere in Birmingham i think

I think the under 16 curfew is for protection of both under 16s & the general public. There's sides to each argument but yknow, it was coming sooner or later. They're trying to get so any young offender with a criminal record will end up being forced into the army... It was something like that (not those exact words lol), but I know the government are trying something like that to combat the problem too.

Probably will happen in your area, in time. It's the parents responsibility to take care of the under 16s, so if you're not in and you get asked for ID, you could be screwed.
