View Full Version : DJ Georgia

OK.

I am a huge Habboxlive fan and I tuned in at 1am and got listening to DJ Georgia and I have to say it is one of the worst shows I have heard in a long time. They way she spoke to people was quite patronising and pretencious like "oh my god I am not going to play that" and like, what was with playing S Club Juniors about 3/4 times?

I just think that the variety was awful and generally she seemed to play whatever she fancied. Then she played her own rap. Now, I am all for the Habboxlive Charity singles as they are funny but FIVE MINUTES of her doing a very poor rap which was quite racially sterotypical was just a bit out of order to be honest and quite self-centered. The radio before hand had gotten 80 listeners... this then dropped to 66! She even admitted that the radio would probably drop listeners but she and I quote "did not care". The radio is meant to be about the listeners.

I sent in jokey message via the shout-out forms as a laugh that I share with other DJs but she took them really serious and was quite rude.

I hate doing this kind of public naming and shaming but it'd be interesting to see who agreed/disagreed etc.

I would like to say however the quality of the radio shows at other times has been brilliant and a big shout out to Jupar whose show was fantastic and also DJ Evertonian was brilliant too.

It isn't necesary to send your feedback to myself or Jess.

In your post you have stated that you want to hear what other people have to say so posting here is fine.

It is best to PM Jess and myself if you want something done about it though.

Thanks,
H0BJ0B

I didn't know you tuned into HabboxLive Joey! :O :D

He's slept with most of the DJ's.

I only tune into HxL every now and again and when I do the standard is quite good. Though if the DJ is lacking in quality, and bringing the good reputation down, then maybe she should take some of this on board for next time :D

I have heard quite a few of her shows, i always thought that they where good shows and that she was a good DJ. To be honest what ever shows i have tuned into they havnt been anything like that. But i didnt tune in to that show so i really cant comment xD

I know most of the times I have heard her, her shows have been really good quality. I'll direct her to this thread though and I'm sure she'll take it on board :).

I never normally tune into HabboxLive but I was bored last night and decided to go on for a laugh and I have to say it was really good. With all the singing of YMCA and the mockery of the ketchup song in the party room it was good. I know some of the songs were awful and the bit where she said she would lose listeners is where somone asked for screamo. Could I also point out that she was DJing from 11-12 but decided to DJ until 2 because no other DJ was on. I know she didn't want to do it but she did.

Funnily enough I tuned in to HabboxLive for the first time in ages, and caught the very show you are on about. I find your criticism slightly harsh, although I have no other shows to compare it to, it was satisfactory and I hope she uses your comments to improve rather than be disheartened.

I hope DJ Georgia has rhino skin, because if I was staff at Habbox and another member of staff posted a criticism as in this thread, I would be extremely upset, and feel somewhat humiliated. It's very unprofessional. Surely as staff if you have a criticism or a complaint, you talk to the Manager of that department. It doesn't even have to be a complaint, if you really think it's bad, just a word to the Manager in question, as a heads up to tune in, so they can listen for themselves. It's fairly obvious every dj will be different, and not everyone will enjoy listening to exactly the same dj.

I'm quite surprised this isn't in the staff guide!

He didn't make the thread to complain, he made it to ask if anyone else felt the same way about it. Georgia might feel upset about it but Joey gave constructive criticism so that she can work on what Joey did not like. And, if the comments are true, she should work on her attitiude instead of not worrying about the amount of listeners.

I think everyone is exaggerating what I wrote a little too much here. I wasn't attacking Georgia's personality as such but I found her show a little bit poor.

I understand she had to strech out the show and was no doubt tired but I just think some of the things she did were a little out of order. I think perhaps I could've PM'd Jess about it but I wanted to gauge other people's opinions and clearly, this is a matter of personal taste as other people have said they prefer her.

As for it being in staff guide, the staff guide says that we cannot attack a staff member this wasn't an attack and I do hope Georgia sees this as constructive rather than an attack as that honestly was not my intention. I apologise to her if she feels this way and if she is at all humiliated.

I think you have misunderstood me, and I will assume Joey is the Mrs.McCall? I do know the thread wasn't made as a complaint, I quite clearly said 'criticism'. Yeah Georgia may or may not be upset, but making a thread and naming Georgia isn't very diplomatic is it? As staff surely you support one another and not criticise each other publically?

So if Georgia's show was a little bit poor, why didn't you just mention it quietly to ,Jess, about how you felt? A perfect opportunity to pass on constructive criticism, rather than ask others for their thoughts? You may not be attacking but you certainly are criticising. Georgia may well be a great or even poor dj, I just think naming and asking for others to support you is wrong. There is a right way to do things, criticising a fellow member of staff shouldn't be done publically. How would you feel if a Manager made a thread and said one of your productions wasn't very good? Disappointed I imagine, that they didn't take the time to talk to you first!

Because I wanted to see if my opinion was backed up because it might've just been me? Also, this is the feedback forum so whether or not I am staff I am allowed to give my feedback good or bad.

If a production was awful I'd want someone to post because that way others could comment and give their opinions and enable me to have a better production next time.

It shouldn't matter if I am staff or not at all because I am still a forum member and a habboxlive listener.

Everyone else seemed fine with my show, and you were abusing me on the request line.
But I'm sorry if I offended you in any way.

Also, in that show I went up to 108 listeners, they dropped to about 66 because it was about 2 am, what do you expect? Anyway I'm going to respect your opinions and I have decided I will stream music late at night instead of DJing. Thanks for telling me :) I'll unbook all my slots now as I think it's quite "harsh" of you.

Byeee! Thanks everyone who is nice rofl xo

Streaming music isn't what a radio presenter does ;)

Also, if I were you I'd learn to accept constructive criticism and build on it for the future because it will only make your show better. Instead of thanking the people who were "nice rofl", thank Mrs.McCall.

If Joey 'abused you', he's making a joke not being serious. You need to take criticism, he moans about your attitude yet you are still doing it?

Oh my. This was never my intention and I am sure you are probably a good DJ but I just wasn't happy with the show and as an avid Habboxlive listener, I thought i'd post my complaint and see if it was just me who thought this.

Also I wasn't actually "abusing" you and I am sorry if it appeared this way but I have joked with other DJs but I guess that is the danger of reading text as it doesn't have any tone.

Yeah, I wasn't being nasty. Just streaming music isn't what you were hired to do! I was just giving a few thoughts on what I felt the show was lacking.

Yeah, I honestly did not mean to upset Georgia and was trying to be constructive. If any offense has been caused it is deeply regretable.

I don't think so as my intention wasn't naming or shaming nor was it to embarass Georgia.

Well not everybody knows Joey on a personal level so how is she to know if he's being serious our not? Everybody has their own individual style when it comes to DJing and if that's what her style is, then let it be her style. Not everybody wants to fall under the category of the "typical" HabboxLive DJ.

i haven't actually tuned into one of her shows but i will make sure i do, maybe after this she might adopt a diffrent style of DJing :)
Also if this thread was about me i know it would knock my cofidence and make me humiliated so maybe pming her or talking to Jess or Danny may be a better way to go about it :)

When it's late at night and sometimes there is no other DJ available streaming music is the only option andit's a lot better than the radio going off air.

I think also like others have said it's not nice to see a thread like this about yourself, so what if she thanked the people who made nice comments? It's polite..

I think you can see that she read the thread and took on board the critisms by the comment she made about just streaming instead and unbooking some of her slots. That just shows how one listeners view can affect a DJ especially when made public like this so I don't really think it helps if people continue to go on.

I honestly think she is an outstanding DJ and that is my view and a lot of other people like her as well but it's always the bad comments that stick in your mind, just because that's how it is. I've had my fair share of nasty comments over the request line and stuff so I know that :P.

She obviously didn't take on the criticisms. She was told by a member that they thought she had a bad attitude, so going

Thanks everyone who is nice rofl xo isn't taking that onboard because that is still a negative attitude.
Maybe the comments will affect her which I don't want, but she should take it onboard.

I won't repeat myself about my intentions and I apologise to anyone who was offended or upset.

And for that reason I am closing this thread.
