*REMOVED* could be interpreted as anything I suppose. It isnt actually the word that people use it for so I suppose they allow it? And besides, if you start censoring every thing peole occasionally use there would be loads

Technically that's not against the rules. The swearing rule only states full words and abbreviations, not shortened or "short-hand" words :P But then again, who's to say you're saying the swear word and not "funking" :P

Yeah but that's the same issue that people had with "lm(letter after e)ao" and saying how the F could really mean anything.. and same with WT(letter) which could just be what the funk.
at the above (posting about whats the point or whatever) ^ Thinking like that you could just easily say why filter anything at all because there will obvious always be ways around the filter.. it's just that if people choose to avoid it then they'll have to face the consequences

You're not meant to. Not everything is filtered, there are plenty of ways you can type swear words and they're not filtered but that's not allowed and is classed as avoiding the filter by using them instead of the actual word that's filtered ;)

But 'ahem' ent, its a very common word used really ;)

Abbreviations aren't meant to be filtered really, we're not kids and if they get told off (which they won't), they can say "Well for this forum, we mean "***unk" and "LMFlippingAO" even though I think the A word is strangely filtered :P

i think ******* should be unfiltered, if piss is. I mean c'mon they really are not different. We've got the "Dont be rude" rule in place for "**** off" ect.

For the benefit of the thread.. now I removed it it's hard to understand but today is basically asking why abbreviated words of the "f word" are not filtered.

It wasn't abbreviated... It removed one letter which should be interpreted as anything and not the F swear word...

If it can be interpreted as rude, then it's going to get removed. If it isn't rude then just use the full word rather than abbreviating it to avoid the confusion.

Haha i remember the big outcry about lm-eff-ao, people were trying to convice the mods it mean 'Lifting my flowers and oranges'

In what way is it obvious? Surely the thought that it is the F swear word is bad too? :P Besides, funking without the u and n is a common phrase, people don't mind when people use words like crap, shiz (which moderators and even some management agreed is allowed) are close calls when it comes to bad words... So why can't fking?
