Then dont even try.
If you dont know anything there would be no point. Also running a server from your home internet connection would be a waste of time as you wouldnt have much bandwidth and the speed would be pants

quite simple, get the pc an intenet connection, head over to apchis website. download apachi for the o/s the pc is useing.
Install it, config it, id then suggsed adding php, and mysql.

But you more aless have a server, the files that show are in the htdocs.

I installed one on my own pc, to test scripts on, athogh keep in mine, windows and unix operstiong evirmones mean scripts may be run differntly "/

Im on 4MB connection and its still not fast enough to run a server and use the internet at the same time. You need at least a 10 MB connection to run the server at a decent speed.

Take this form someone with expereience :)

well i recomend you buy Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Small Buissness or what ever verstion you want. If you want to run another OS at the same time you will need to install Windows Server/the other OS on diffrent HDs. I also recomend you get about 2-4GB of ram and 80gb - 120gbs x2 hds and 2x Intel Zeon (3.6Ghzs) CPUs. You also might want Microsoft SQL Server if you plan on useing a database - you will need a other computer for this i think but it dosent need to be that powerful as the server. Soz about my spelling :D Hope this helps
