Okay so i got the update on the 31st (I assume)
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/existingcustomers/faster/schedule.html
before i reboot my wireless + V plus box my download speed was around 3k (according to speedtest.net)
but now it's around 4-5k.
Is that roughly.. right? Or am I being mugged off :)?
They say up to 10MB, not a guaranteed 10MB, so unless you're getting anything less than the package below yours, you can't really complain to them lol

Fair enough :)
I thought maybe it would be lower due me having wireless. But then again, we do have like 3 people using it within my household every so often.

don't mean to steal your thread, but is this slow?
http://www.speedtest.net/result/303652890.png (http://www.speedtest.net)
have about 3 / 4 computers / laptops running wireless at same time pretty much all day.
The speed varies anyway, sometimes i'll get 9 or 10 MB speeds or sometimes it goes down to 2MB on me. Depends on how many people are on it in your house and if its peak time, that might affect it.
Cal - That's just over 9MB i think, so pretty good if you're supposed to be getting up to 10MB
Callum.

ah okay, the upload number looked small so i wasn't sure if it was bad.
and yeah, think we're on the up to 10 mb thing.

This is why Virgin Media are great and if you live in a cable area you should go with them:

I see all your "great" Virgin Media speeds, which could be lieing if VM have direct cable links to the datacenters in the UK, yet your pings are CRAP, how can you game on them? :|

Cable is much faster than other method's of serving internet.
I agree about the ping thing, mines like 52 and I have 6.9mbps.

You're aware ping varies from server to server yes? I like gaming with 5ms ping ;)

Why does every thread like this turn into a "Post your internet speed" thread? Seriously.
I got the update sometime at the end of june and it's been amazing ever since, I normally get 800 - 900 kb/s downloading from rapidshare.
my fastest result has been:

Sheeesh, see, perfect example of why faster broadband isn't necessarily better :) Im on 8mb broadband down BT's line from Eclipse and I always get 900kbp/s on rapidshare.

Thats alright but I don't have a BIT line due to a tree knocking it down. If we wanted one it would charge us, so stuff that. Virgin all the way. :)

My internet is fine for games etc.
I have only problem where mine seems to cut off every so often if im over-using it loads (msn cam, habbo, youtube).
i dont know why it does it though :)
