"It has come to our attention that a number of sites have created a replica of the Habboxforum login page in order to phish for user account details."

Now, i'm sure you'd agree, that is very important... and it's posted over, by:

Name Changes
Trial Results
Lumpesh returning as HabboxLive DJ

Now, good for Lumpesh and all those, but i'm sure people care alot more about possibly being phished instead of Lumpesh coming back to HabboxLive.

That thread needs to be sticky'd to be honest.

I completely agree. They need a system so people don't post over important announcements.

I do think the announcements are much improved, it's unfortunate that what we may consider is less important, ie name changes, staff changes have been posted since the very important one, but it is stickied. I also think the one made regarding MSN should be stickied too.

The thread is stickied now anyway.

Changes to Staff Announcements

or something. :)

Then, I think the Community Notice Board should be used for Name Changes etc.
Why not?

What they should do is when an important announcement that effects EVERYONE announced, the forum shouldn't be posted in for at least a day or 2. Or have the thread moved to the top.

Maybe changing Event to Community - so not just events can go there.

I'd prefer that: much neater!

Its perfectly fine as it is.

If someone such as yourself is that concerned you will open up the section and view the new threads inside it, just like anyone else will.

It's ok as it is I think with the amount of announcment forums, but for "major" announcements that really need to be seen I don't see why we can't use the mandatory viewing (as has been used before). It's an inconvenience for all of a couple of seconds if you don't care, and if it's only used for the real safety issues such as the thread mentioned here, it won't be a problem.

Wait er...am I ******ed? I swear I force read the thread for that exact reason, I anticipated this thread and was like, ok I have to post name changes I'll force this thread because its important. Did nobody get forced to read that? :eusa_wall But yeah in the future we'll force-read threads like those.

My bad :$

That's exactly how it is now except for different forum names.

I realised that when I posted it. I think that events and staff changes should be in community notice board, then a dev one as it is now.

It's already called Community Notice Board and it's not just events that go in there - competitions and HabboxLive events go in there too :P

Easy solution, we just force important threads, we're not going to stop posting for two days.

The easy way is to force the thread, and not mess it up when you do it *points at self*.

Problem solved :)

It doesn't mean it doesn't work. I managed to read it before those other threads continued over it, so if I can, surely everyone else can..

You cant keep people happy though! They will next be moaning that you're forcing them to a thread like the last time lol :P

Seeing as the little icon flashes when you haven't read something then surely you would realise there was something in the anouncements that you haven't read when it does flash. So Even if it isn't at the top, then when the icon flashes you would see that there was something in the announcements that you would need to read :D So it isn't like the thead has been gotten rid of or anything..

personally i think there should be like 1 or 2 announcement forums with a few sub forums like; Staff announcements for name changes and additions to the team and stuff.
Or, when an important thread like the phishing one pops up make it so people have to view the thread to continue viewing/posting in the rest of the forum, im pretty sure you have done that in the past.

Protip: Global announcements

If it's important then set it as a global announcement and it will appear in every forum. [Add-on link (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=104714) in case you don't have it]
