This isn't for me, it's for Danny lol

But anyway, he keeps getting BSOD on his laptop, he wants to know will he have to reformat to fix it or can he do it without restorin?

Insert your OS install disc into the disc drive, boot from the disc and select repair install.

That's very strange :confused:. Does he have any other hard drives he can install on? Because from the sound of the error it's a hard disc problem and it could well be that switching in another one and reinstalling could sort it.

You have to chmod -r when you repair it type it n it takes couuple hrs but it happend 2 me now it fixed:)

That's a Linux command, doesn't work on Windows I think.

i have this cd that restores mine with all my files... it runs of norton ghost i suggest you set up that when its fixed so you dont have so bad probs again..
