Soo my awesome grandad goes to hospital and finds out he has a tumor then hes kept there for like a month, gets told he can have an operation to get rid of it then he gets told he's not getting the operation. The doctors are basically saying, go home and die. They wont even say how long he has to live. Could be months, days, hours
i thought hospitals were supposed to help people
not kill them :|

god knows where the nearest one is cos he has to go to the big one where he lives. bit late to change lol.

Yeah, try a different hospital. A home nurse could be better than a hospital too.

I think finding a hospital to change to would be a better plan than just sitting at home not knowing when you could die, the hospital which he has been to sounds terrible.

I think its too late now, they kept him in hospital for months before doing anything just making it all worse and he has some other disease that makes your skin and eyes go all yellow D:

He could be better off at home as I said, you never know what he could catch in hospitals nowadays. My grandad went into hospital and caught MRSA and had to have his toe amputated.

Sorry to hear that. I suggest you spend as much time as possible with him then if he doesn't know when hes going to go, then once he has sue the ******** at the hospital (or try anyway).

Yeah. Can't you ask the nurses why he has to be taken home?

Well they wanted him to stay cos they obviously know how long he has to live but hes got a giant bag of juice stuff (it looks so fine) and tablets from the hospital. He wanted to go home, because being stuck in hospital wasnt in his mind but he's gunna see what his local doctor says and stuff so hopefully he'll be ok ;[

They may have realised that the tumour is either inoperable or it is too late. And you can't sue them for anything, hospitals have the right to discharge patients whenever they like. There is no obligation to give a person an operation

Yeah. I hope he gets better. Don't worry about it, he'll be fine. Get as much information from the doctors as possible.

If a patient asks how long they have to live the doctor should tell them how long.

(source: mum and dad who're trained nurses)

but yeah unlucky about your grandad btw, and hope he gets better.

Doctors won't not do something because they feel like it, they could have reasons such as there's no reason to remove it because it's developed so much it's too late or that it's cancerous and it's spread etc etc.

I'd get him to get a second opinion mind.
