View Full Version : How can i combine 2 harsdrives into one?

Right, i have a c drive and a d drive,
how can i merge these into 1 drive?

If they're the same size and you have a RAID controller you can set them to RAID 0. This would require formatting them though. In RAID 0 if one of the discs fails you will lose all data on both discs.

Are you sure it's not a petition? Tell us the size of both the hard-drives and it should be clear.

My dad came home from work the last week clutching a new laptop, GOODNESS THE C:/ DRIVE ONLY HAS 20GB he says. And then the D:/ drive contained another 100GB, he didn't bother to check that it was partitioned.

If they are seperate drives, you might be able to JBOD or RAID 0 them together, depending on your motherboard. If they are a single drive with seperate partitions, you can combine the partitions together using software.

To raid 0 them both hard drives need to have identical specs
